Security Chain Company QG4221 Quik Grip Type DT Light Truck Dual and Triple Tire Traction Chain - Set of 2

I bought these chains for my F450 plow truck. They improved traction a lot but that quickly degraded as the chains continued to break. Speaking as someone who works with steel heat treatments daily, the problem here is their steel treatment. The links that are cut and bent to hold the cross bars on and the links that are bent to hook shapes are heat treated before they are bent in to position what this means is that they want to return to their original, unbent shape. They problem here is that if they do that they no longer hold the tire chains together. Every single time I've used these chains I've broken at least of these bent links. This lowers the traction which increases wheel spin which leads to broken links faster. Two of these links have even broken enough that they have become sharp and poked through my tires. I know that typically people damage their tires by having the chains on inside out but that was not the case here. These links on the chains broke in such a way that they became needles and poked through my tires. I popped 2 of my 4 rear tires with these and the company has given me no response.

I originally tried a set of single chains on my RV but they did not work due to the dual rear tires. I tried these on my RV and they fit as described. They were a little tricky to install due to vehicle design; not the fault of the chain. If I ever need to use them, they appear to be durable and able to handle the job.I would suggest a couple of additional items to make installation easier. 1. some sort of hook or grabber to pull the center chain through the duals. 2. Chain tighteners. 3. Wire or wire ties to secure any extra loose chain.Please disregard the review titled "Dually Ice Chains". In that review, the reviewer states, "Please note heavy duty chains for dual wheels are often listed singly... you must buy two of those." This is incorrect. The item being purchased comes with two chains; enough to cover both pairs of duals. This misleading information caused a delay in my purchase and almost caused me to not purchase from Amazon at all. In the end, I am glad I purchased from Amazon because this is the lowest possible price and I received free shipping with my Prime account.

Used one time on 4 day trip. Chained up front and rear tires on 1 ton dually 4x4 truck.Chains worked. Great until one of the cross links broke and started to slap my wheel well causing some minor body and paint damage. I cut the link off and continued using without.To seller, I would appreciate a replacement set at no charge, though I will leave this to your discretion.Thank you

Only used the chains once before last season. Second time I used them, the inner chain broke and ripped through a brake line and abs sensor. If I was not an experienced driver and close to home I would be stranded in a North Idaho blizzard! I was also put on the shoulder of a highway that was down to one lane under the truck fighting the center chain off the hub between the dually!! Now I have a maintenance bill, no chains, no option to return or exchange and loosing money for my business now that my truck is down. Unsat!!

Have not used in snow yet. Test fitted on dirt road near the house. The max traction offset is visible and helps make ride a little smoother. They were moderately difficult to test fit but the first time is always the hardest right. Will review after first use while towing this winter.

Not taken out of box, Hope I never need to. But will be glad I have them, If I need too.
