Shea Nilotica is often referred to as East African Shea butter to distinguish it from its more well known cousin: West Africa Shea butter. Shea Nilotica tends to be softer, with a milder fragrance. It also contains high levels of olein, and essential fatty acids. Our 4 ounce Shea Nilotica is fair trade, certified organic, and manually processed by a women’s cooperative in Uganda. When it gets to us, all we add is our blend of certified organic essential oils. A little goes a long way. Ingredients: 100% unrefined, fairly traded, certified organic Shea Nilotica, and organic essential oils. We swear. That’s all! Note: Shea Nilotica has a lower melting point than West Africa Shea Butter. If your product arrives in a liquid form, simply place in fridge for about 20 minutes.
