A really cool concept, delivered well.
Good planetary rotation to you all! This is a great concept - a nuclear decay-powered glowing keyring that looks swish and helps you keep track of your keys. I am pleased to say that it has been well-executed.Features:- The steel casing is well machined, and feels strong and light and premium quality. The only minor downside to this was that the screw cap sealing the end of the casing was somewhat easy to undo, prompting worries about the vial falling out of it and breaking. A dot of superglue later though, and all is secure.- The Tritium-phosphor tube inside the keychain gives off a steady, dim glow. Though probably not enough to see anything useful by, it is a very good visual marker on dark nights/in dark environments. Also, you get bragging rights because it's radioactive!! (*although safe, the glass vial and the phosphor will absorb all the beta radiation emitted)It'd be great as a gift for any sciency/engineer/nerdy types you happen to know. It is somewhat small though (see ruler photo for comparison) although that's probably my responsibility for forgetting the size of a millimetre as mentioned in the description!- Packaging was excellent, it came within another canister keychain inside of a faux velvet bag (both pictured) and then a standard padded envelope. It arrived a few days early too, so it seems to have been sent by air mail from the manufacturer in China. The fairly high price of the unit probably reflects this.TL;DR:Pros:- Cool concept- Good build quality- Good deliveryCons:- High unit price for what you get- Loose base screw fastening, but easily fixed.Cheers!
