Review: This DOES works with Wink 1 Hub. (Here The TRUE pairing instructions!) - Ok, after not being able to pair my Sylvania Smart Home Sylvania LIGHTIFY (model 72922-A) with my Wink Hub 1 after trying for about 4-5 hours, I started to look (for hours) for reviews in desertcart, forums, tutorials, videos or whatever I could find that would shed me some light on the pairing subject. Let me start by saying that I think I had never read/seen so many mixed reviews before... Some saying that this plugs WORKS and others that it doesn't work. In some places (including desertcart) I read that there are two plugs, one older model that just says "Sylvania" on the front of the plug (model 72922) and a newer one that says "Sylvania Smart+" (model 72922-A). People claim that the older one works and the newer one doesn't. It doesn't matter, as it says in the Sylvania web page: "SYLVANIA LIGHTIFY products have been rebranded as SYLVANIA SMART+. These lights, fixtures, and accessories will look and function similar to LIGHTIFY devices and will continue to work with existing partners." So, on to the pairing issue. As I read from someone here, the instructions on the manual and even on WINK are horrible and will mislead you. To cause less confusion I will only tell you the appropriate pairing instructions for this plug (and if you're a Wink Hub user). First, have the Sylvania Smart+ plug ready in your hand (not connected) for when Wink asks you to "hit the pairing button". Select "Add a product" or " + " in the Wink app (be close to the Wink Hub, at least 15 feet), choose the Sylvania plug (in the Wink options they don't have the Sylvania Smart+ plug). Then, Hit "next" 3 times until you get to "Connect Now". When you hit THAT button, the Wink Hub flash should start to flash blue... right there insert the switch (and here's the trick) with the power button that it has in front, pushed (for no more than 2 seconds). And THAT should do it RIGHT there! The device should appear in Wink as paired. Easy and simple (yeah, when you know how to do it). I hope this helps future consumers like me!
Review: Some setup with SmartThings but works great! - Works great with SmartThings hub, but you have to do it just right. Here's how I got mine working. Plug it in, open the SmartThings app>Home>Add a Thing>let it search> if it doesn't find anything, push and hold the power button for 10 seconds>You should hear a click and it should find it as "A Thing">Click on it and give it a name. Once you have it added, it will be added but the status will be "Unknown." Next, Login to to your smarthings developer's site (google it if you're not sure of the URL)>Home>you should see your new device with the name you just gave it, click it>scroll down>edit>change the type from "Samsung Home Theater" or whatever it shows to "Zigbee Switch">Update. Go back to your phone and your device will now have a toggle for on/off. I love the cheap price and the 15Amp load this little switch can take. I'm using a few of these to control the Christmas lights. Highly recommend because it's cheap, has a high amp load and doesn't affect the plug below it. Only downside I can think of is the lack of energy monitor. However, at this price point for a zigbee/z-wave device, it's a steal. I'm ordering a few more.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Does the Job - Ouside and Holiday Lights

How often do I get to write a 5-start review for a product that Im annoyed at? This does not work with Hue. Lame! The older model mostly works with Hue, but not good enough. I say dont bother trying to use with Hue. They dont claim to work with Hue so I cant knock any stars. I am just making the statement here. I have three of these. Two of the older models and one of the newer smart+ ones. They work fine. Easy to pair with the lightify hub and turn on and off per the schedule. That is about it. They work. When I had the older model outlets paired with my Hue system, they didnt work perfect. They apparently never communicated back to the Hue hub correctly. This meant they would indicate as ON in the app but wouldnt be. I would have to frequently manually turn on the outside holiday lights. I bought one of the Lightify hubs, thinking maybe it would be useful for updating the firmware on these switched outlets. I dont think they have ever updated the firmware. But I finally paired the outlets with it and just use it directly to turn the outlets on and off. It works. I really didnt want yet another thing hooked into the house network. I gave in and now it works.
