I purchased this scanner at the same time as purchasing the Makerbot scanner. There is no comparison. This scanner is by-far superior to the competitor. The only downside is the tracking ability of the scanner software. It does occasionally lose tracking data while scanning smaller objects, and larger objects take a little bit of practice in controlled, fluent movement. The first thing I printed on my new Makerbot printer was a bust of my coworker's head, scanned with this device. If you do scan heads with the scanner (and there is a portion of the software JUST for doing that) make sure you start at the direct rear of the head. I scanned starting at the bridge of the nose and the two halves of the face were ever-so-slightly vertically offset at the end of the scan. Overall, I have been incredibly pleased with the performance of this device.

Overall this is a poorly designed product. When I received it, plugged it in, and went to scan people and small objects ... I was extremely disappointed.I have tried so many time and gave up. Maybe my unit was defective, but it was a good waste of MY time.I gave a chance to the product, but the reality is that product is not worth your time and money.

I tried to apply this to half-hull models of ships, with poor results due to loss of registration. Not ready for prime time yet.

there are two versions of this product. the version two, the one I got is apparently a step in the wrong direction in a lot of ways. the cable is laughably short. I can hold the scanner in one hand and pull it taught with the other. no way to swap out so your only choice is a extension cable or to carry it around with a laptop or tablet. You have to register the product to the company to even test it out on their software. once I did that it ran so unreasonably bad on windows 10 I decided to return it. the 3 second count down to tell you a scan is about to start took 15 seconds.It's not my computer either. I have a i5: 3.5ghz processor, 16 gig ddr4, gtx1080, 850evo 500gig solid state drive. Judging from video's I've seen of other people doing scans I have to assume it's an issue with windows 10. either way returned and didn't like the company or their operations to continue to look into any of their other products.

UPDATE: 18 months later and i am still extremely happy with this scanners ability. PREVIOUS REVIEW: The device works as advertised with caveats. I would like to urge the owners that gave low marks to consider the following things I learned in the first day of trial and error. First, I used a dell m6800 with a fast Nvidia video card - the scanner did not work very well. My second try was with another dell m6800 but with an SSD (solid state Drive) and same Nvidia video card - it worked very well and I created several scans of people and objects. I did have very few, very, minor tracking issues, but it was learning curve more than anything else, and if you're steady it may jump right back to scan mode on its own.... Third, I used a big bad dell precision T3600 desktop which is decked out for 3d CAD.. a real scorcher..... the scanner worked so well, I was floored.. smooth, no "silly" tracking issues and instant post processing....BUUUTTT, and this is a Kim Kardashian BUTT! When later, I tried at home with the m6800 with SSD, I had problems... all tracking related.... big object, small object, size didn't matter. A bit of deductive reasoning was required !, I realized that the light in my office is typical "very good" office lighting, but my home, not so much. Really, that was the only difference I could figure. So to test the theory, I tried outside, not in direct sunlight, but still very well lit. The results..It worked so well, that I almost couldn't force it to loose tracking. I was able to track for "MINUTES" without issue... really, minutes. Very good lighting seals the deal. In regards to the software setup, One of the things that must be noted is that you should experiment with the different size options in the settings, even when it seems illogical, the software/unit does perform differently with each setting. Also, try various resolutions. And please ensure that the highlighted area (showing on the computer) is what you intend to scan (the highlight area is green). If you do not get your object to highlight before your "start" the scan, it will not work, also, the highlight area jumps and sometimes highlights an area well beyond the intended object (scanning the wasted area really taxes the CPU), you should adjust/aim until your item highlights and possibly a few adjacent items - it is a rectangle highlight area and your object is likely not, so some adjacent highlighting should be expected. I am very very happy with this scanner, and despite this long review, it is very easy to use when the conditions are correct. I would like to give it 3 1/2 stars, not 4, really, because, the lighting should not be the problem that it appears to be, Also, it "seems" to require real CPU horse power and a solid state drive, not sure about the video card ..... Again, works as advertised and I have done about a dozen good scans since purchased 1 day ago.

This scanner works very well for what I want it for: faces. It has exactly what one needs for scanning faces. And it works well for bodies, too. If you want to scan a very small item it doesn't really have the resolution, and if you want to scan a really large thing it will have problems with that too.But I've gotten some excellent results on the faces.

At the same price range, you can buy the Structure Sensor (you need an iPad, though) and save yourself the pain of trying to get this to 3D scanner to work. It looks misleadingly simple and easy, but after hours of trial and error, we have finally given up on getting a good scan of a face or a body, or anything else for that matter.Every maker of 3D scanners takes a different approach to bringing a 3D model into your computer, but this one misses the mark. Their videos make it seem easy, but it's everything but. Time totally wasted (and money refunded by Amazon, thankfully.)

本日配達されて、早速使用してみたのですが、senseのLEDが、光りません。確か商品の説明では、カメラの部分にＬＥＤ照明がついているようなのですが、不良品ではありませんか？　ケースに入っていた説明書も、ところどころほころんでいるようで新品とは思えないのですが？　もしそうであれば交換していただきたいと思います。

very hard to get a good rendering of a 3d scan. The scans are always blurred and unrecognizable. Tried with all the tutorial i've found on the net even with 3D Sence support team and still no good results.Very disapointed

Die Qualität der eingescannten Objekte ist mehr als dürftig. Die Details sind quasi nicht vorhanden. Alles was kleiner als 1cm ist, wird selbst in der höchsten Scannerauflösung glattgebügelt. Die Software entspricht auch nicht mehr den Videos, da der Funktionsumfang deutlich eingeschränkt wurde. Alles in Allem ist das Gerät für mich daher nicht zu gebrauchen.

È un giocattolo non uno scanner. Alla fine è solo un modellatore fotografico 3D. Non uno scanner . Il nero e l'acciaio nn lo riconosce
