Tufo Tubular Clincher a great way to upgrade your rims & ride quality
Well, I'm back in 'road heaven' mode enjoying a smooth, supple yet efficient ride on these new Tufo Elite ride 25's mounted on my new ICAN 38mm Clincher Carbon Disc Wheelset. It's like having a whole new bike in terms of dampening road vibrations and allowing the ride to go faster over rough pavement than the prior Aluminum rims with normal road tires would allow.I'm running 45ml of Orange Seal Sealant inside these Tufo's and using Continental Valave stem extenders. FYI bike is Giant Contend SL2 Disc.I've had other Tufo tubular clinchers before and it was also a postive experience. But these have a higher TPI count and that really helps the smoothness of the ride. Our pavement quality here in Texas is the 'pits' - pothole city & rough backroads that flat many a road tire.So far, 20 plus rides, no flats and I pray that continues. With the ease of installing an ounce or two of sealant, it should be a very flat proof experience. A bit like road tubeless but at a lower cost.My so is a high level road racer and he was blown away at the amazing quality of these tires as he mounted them & checked their alignment on a wheel truing stand."I'm getting these tires for my next set", was his statement.David - East Texas Rider

Best clincher tires I''ve ever ridden
I've ridden on Tufo C Elite tubular clinchers for seven years now and I'd never think of using another tire.I have a 25mm on my rear and a 23mm on my front of my Lynskey Performance Designs Ti road bike and these tires have the best combination of handling, stability and comfort I've ever found in a clincher tire. I rode true tubulars for many years before giving up about a decade ago but I always missed the ride characteristics of sew-ups. These Tufos are so close to the real thing, that I'd be hard pressed to tell the difference. While these tires aren't cheap, one has to remember that you don't need to purchase tubes, rim strips or glue. On average, I might lose one a every other season due to punctures and I ride approximately 2000 miles a year. Hence, I guess I get about 4000 miles out of these tires on average. I always use Tufo tire sealant and it seems to work quite well. When I have punctured, I've always been able to ride home with about 40 psi in the blown tire. All in all, I find these tires to be excellent and as I said above, I'd never dream of riding anything else. I wonder why other manufacturers haven't picked up on and started selling tubular clinchers of their own but until they do, Tufo has at least one extremely satisfied & loyal customer.
