Priceless convinience. Another Nak-Lock Nakamura Design.
482 Megumiā¢, Blade Length: 2.48", Blade Thickness: 0.11", Handle Thickness: 0.46", Blade Material: S30V Premium Stainless Steel, Blade Style: Clip-Point, Lock Type: Nak-Lok, Overall Length: 5.76", and Closed Length: 3.28"Beautiful, well-made gentleman's folder. Feels good in my hand. This is one of three overall Nak-Lok folder styles. That first beautiful design had for me some issues but I collect and now that first model is no longer available. This Megumi model does not have any issues. It works well as designed. This is a front end reverse button lock mechanism. Love a great working Nak-Lok. The details are much better than others have critiqued. The stud open is tight but works well after use. I would not suggest adusting until you have worked the mechanism for several weeks. If you do not understand Benchmade and wish to keep your warranty I would send back to BENCHMADE factory if you have any issues. I have found that when you over loosen the hinge the Nak-Lok can mal-function. All liner locks place side pressure on the blade when closed they often push the blade to the side. This model centers well when closed because the hinge has zero wobble. This is an outstanding semi-formal gentleman's folder with the BENCHMADE brand made in USA. Extra. To me the design when closed has outstanding OSBORNE details.

A Beautiful Knife
My husband carries a knife daily - usually a larger, heavier, more tactical style Kershaw or Benchmade - but he wanted something smaller that he could slip into the pocket of his dress pants without it being obnoxious. This fits the bill perfectly and he is very pleased! We joke about this being his "gentleman's tactical cutting device." It really is gorgeous and very well-made, as I'd expect from Benchmade, and I like that it's made here in the US.Since the specs aren't listed here, they are (per the Benchmade website):Blade Length: 2.48"Blade Thickness: 0.110"Handle Thickness: 0.460"Blade Material: S30V Premium Stainless SteelBlade Hardness: 58-60HRCBlade Style: Clip-PointWeight: 1.85oz.Pocket Clip: Lanyard Hole; No ClipLock Mechanism: Nak-LokOverall Length: 5.76"Closed Length: 3.28"Sheath Material: Sold SeparatelyClass: Blue

Changed to 3 stars instead of 2.
This is a beautiful knife, there is no doubt about that. I saw the knife in person and held it before ordering it, so I knew what I was getting. Unfortunately after receiving the knife and inspecting it I noticed a screw missing. I sent the knife back understanding I would be refunded my money, as I requested. Instead I was sent another knife, not sure if the knife was the same one that was sent back to me. Oddly the screw that was missing in my first one, seemed odd in the replacement knife. Same gap was in the pivot point as on the first knife and space between scales and liner were there. Benchmade when i called them is why i gave it another star, JUST SEND IT TO US. I would give it another star, but i want others to be aware of the issue. Knife is used now, waiting to send back to Benchmade when it needs sharpening.

Good and Plenty.
Benchmade is my favorite mass market knife maker. They have super quality, their blade locks are innovative and the finish is nice. On this model, it is just a tad large to carry, but the quality makes you want to take it along. It has a good choice in blade alloy and the cocobolo was finished to perfection. This one was given as a gift and I am never sorry choosing the brand. However,The 4 star rating, almost 3, is for the chintzy cardboard box. It is too big and absolutely cheap. (Think: Good and Plenty box.) It has a seal on it and so you give a gift with a loose knife rattling around. Jeez, spend a buck and use a better box.

Not worth the price.
The Benchmade Megumi fell short of my expectations. Considering the price and place of manufacture I expected nothing less than perfection. The carbon fiber inlay is not flush with the cocobolo on either side of the knife and one side is twice as noticeable as the other. The screws do not have a uniform depth either though they are close. My email to Benchmade has seemingly fell upon deaf ears and I have yet to have a reply from them in a weeks time. After first hand observation, the lanyard hole may be a bit too small. The factory edge was uniform and had a utility angle on it which is expected. It was as lightweight as promised. The locking mechanism is excellent and would allow you to cut with confidence. Its small size was just right.A price of 80 to $100 would be a better fit in my opinion. For the price I paid, "I don't like it".

Sharp-looking, precise release and locking mechanism, perfect size
Had been looking for a pocket knife for awhile for general utility usage around our lake house. Works perfectly in the house, yard, garage and out on the boat.High quality construction and very durable.

The knife is absolutely beautiful! Fit and finish are very close to perfect
The knife is absolutely beautiful! Fit and finish are very close to perfect. The blade arrived extremely sharp and has held the edge for over 2 months with daily office usage. Knife fits comfortably in the pocket while not seeming too small. The action was rather stiff at first, but after a couple weeks use it became very fluid and easy to flick with the thumb.
