I don't fully understand the question, but I have a tremol-no on 2 guitars that I've tuned from e standard all the way to drop a. No issues. It's a great product.

I have a classic vibe squire strat. 2 springs. Think this will work for me?

I believe most squire strats have the 6 screw mount..If that is the case on yours, Tremol-No recommends this one (Pin Type).

Can you tune to drop a with this thing???

Yes with the bridge locked it basically acts like a fixed bridge. Remember though that tuning to drop a will probably require redoing the intonation etc so you may want to setup the bridge for drop a and then use the tremelno to keep the tuning stable.
