I laughed when I saw this, but it was so interesting that I had to try it.Basically you bite the mouthpiece, adjust the 3 rollers to the size and shape of the desired goatee. The rollers are adjusted independently. The template is somewhat flexible, so you can make it wide on one end and narrow on the other. Then you shave along the template.This product did work as advertised. My goatee was even on both sides.The mouthpiece did cause a slight gag reflex for me which was annoying. The template didn't fit flush to my face. I had to inflate my cheeks with air or push on the template before I shaved.

My boyfriend likes it a lot. He says it takes a bit to get what setting he wants it at. He ended up shaving to much so had to let it grow back out before trying again. So, I'd recommend to anyone buying to start with the largest setting first and trim off that first, then if it's not to your liking go to the next length, and continue until it's to your liking. It is a bit of work, but once you know where you like it set to then you don't have to keep growing out your facial hair and trying a different setting.

This is the first product of this type that I purchased. It is quite handy and does a great job of achieving the desired result of my free-hand attempts (and frequent failures). I have used the template each time I've shaved over the past few weeks and I am pleased with the symmetry and well-shaped appearance of my facial hair.The template does have a few of drawbacks, however. 1-Users are limited in goatee shape. Before using the product, my goatee was shaped differently. All three guides on my template are adjusted out to the maximum setting but the template falls short of how I shaped my goatee before using the product. 2-The template does not lock in place once the guides are set. Users should be mindful of inadvertently adjusting the three guide settings with normal everyday handling. 3-The template cannot be designed to fit every face shape. The template does not fit as tightly under my chin as it does on my face. I still have to be careful when shaving under my chin to avoid a misshaped goatee.Even with the design shortcomings, this is still a great product and a huge improvement on my attempts to achieve satisfactory results without a template. I am happy with my purchase and would buy the product again.

This is a great product for any man who wants a wants a perfectly shaped goatee with zero effort. Where this product really shines is shaving the neck portion of the goatee. You can't see this part of your neck and using a mirror makes it a difficult backwards effort. The "My Perfect Goatee" template makes a perfect line on your neck, exactly where it should be trimmed. I use it in conjunction with the "Conair Corded Beard and Mustache Trimmer" (available on Amazon.com for less than 10 bucks) using the #14 attachment. A perfect job every time. I made a couple of DIY improvements to make the Goatee Template a bit better; the adjusting screws tend to turn when using, so I place a piece of duct tape over each adjustment screw to keep them in place. I also folded over a piece of duct tape on the very bottom of the template where there is a 3/4" gap.

recently started growing a goatee. my shaving skills for a goatee are marginal at best. i came online and checked amazon and i never knew a product like this even existed. has a mouth piece, you bite down on it, and it holds the saver in place. it's basically a adjustable template so you can shave around your goatee and not have any mishaps.overall, a great item!update 10/17/18**** just replaced this after 2 years. held up great. started slowly falling apart.. so i replaced it. it was still functional, but the sides were no longer adjustable. great item, keeps my goatee perfectly shaped.

Keep your goatee nice and symmetrical and satisfy your ocd at the same time with this product. There is no need to keep fiddling with a trimmer or razor, you know your shave will go exactly as planned each and every time. It is plastic and a bit delicate but be careful with it and you will be fine. Dial in the ideal shape for your face, and you're good to go. Go ahead and laugh at the absurdity if you want but you'll secretly praise it when you use it.

Helped me finally shape my goatee nicely BUT the gap is problematic. First time I used it, I inadvertently shaved more off in the "gap" it leaves if you have a wider jawline/face. I fixed that by putting some duct-tape across that gap on top and bottom after I sized it to my face. I also don't like that the bottom really does just force you to trim close to the jawline. I prefer a little bit more on the underside of my jaw so modified the device so that I can extend that cut farther back -- to cover my double-chin a little ;)But I liked the handsfree aspect. I put it in my teeth and I can get right to trimming away! Very convenient. Truth is, I only had to use it twice now to get the shape of my beard right and after that I've been able to follow the lines it set. I'm sure as time goes by that line will get sloppy and then I'll pull it out and re-straighten it all out.

I am taking away a star because I don't think this will work well if you have a long chin. It adjusts narrow and wide, but not shirt to tall. I don't really have a long face and I felt it was a little short for me. However, I had no idea how unsymmetrical my goatee was cut until I used this. That alone is worth the price. It is a little odd to use tho. I feel like Hannibal lector with this in my face. You twist 3 textured bars to increase the width of the device to match how you want to shape your facial hair. You can make the width of the top and bottom match, or make top wider or shorter than the bottom. Overall, it does what it is meant to.
