One router bit change with the Musclechuck will have woodworkers wondering why this ingenious chuck wasn't invented along with the router. With just a half-turn of a hex wrench, router bits pop in and out with absolute ease. No more rummaging around for the right wrenches. Ideal for table- or CNC-mounted routers. Not only that, but the extra reach afforded by the Musclechuck allows you to perform above-table router bit changes in seconds. Unlike many other quick-change router chucks, this one doesn't rely on a cam, so it won't damage the router bit shank, and there's no risk of loosening over time. Features: Easy installation: Musclechuck threads directly onto your router's existing spindle The Musclechuck accepts 1/2" shanks out of the box Chuck adds approximately 1/2" to the length of your router spindle, which makes more cutting length available when the router is mounted in a table.

does not work as advertised
Be careful before you purchase this. I bought one, and it was so poorly balanced that my cnc vibrated. That was a first. The adapters easily slipped out of this chuck, and I could not fit 1/2" bits, or adapters in as it would close, but not spring open again. This made it a long length job switching tools. Very very bad. I eventually got so frustrated that I put my hitachi 1/2" collet back on, and threw this one away...... and life was good again. No more vibrating router. I then used the adapters purchased seperately for the different sized bits and the original chuck switched them easily, quicker, and with no trouble at all. I regret buying this chuck, and really cannot imagine it helps anyone with quicker tool changes. My experience was very bad, but maybe someone else had a much better experience, at least the tool looked good. The adapters I used were from 3 different sets of adapters, all together I tried a variety with no luck.

Must have accessory for my table mounted router
I am using this on a table mounted Hitachi router. It is an excellent addition for quickly and easily changing router bits above the table. I would give it 5 stars if the price was a bit lower.

I asked the question if this item would work on ...
I asked the question if this item would work on my Hitachi router and the answer was it would. I purchased it and it did not work at all. I ended up giving it to a friend that it worked on. So not so much. Also on the package the type no. was marked through with a sharpie and the no. 12 hand written in it's place.
