Will they break apart through normal use and washing?** A: No, I don't think they'll break apart from normal washing. I washed mine in the dishwasher after the first (and only so far) use and they came out fine. **Q: I need a small pair of tongs to keep in my purse so I may toss my restaurant salad with a small amount of dressing. Would these work?** A: Purchased these for a cocktail party for serving small ' finger' foods, like canapΓ©s, hors oeuvre etc. They are sized accordingly. They do not open wide so you might need to bend them a bit to get a wider opening. Be careful if you do as they are 'welded' at the top and you might break them. They are small enough for a purse. **Q: Are these lead free ?** A: They say it is stainless steel. I bought the silver and they work great **Q: Where are these made?** A: These tongs are excellent for serving, especially on a buffet as they are small but so serviceable. Have had many inquiries as where to purchase them. However, I do not know where they are made.
