You can smash this thing pretty well and it comes sharp as a razor. Price is right, heavy duty, just don't hit a nail or any metal and the blade edge will last decently before you have to sharpen.

This review is for the"Vanquish 4609 High-Impact Wood Chisel Set, 5-Piece"When I received these, I was impressed with the case, well constructed, heavy-duty, and upon opening it saw how the chisel points were protected by plastic shields.My initial inspection showed these to be well made.The chisel tips were ground well and quite sharp, although there were some burrs along the sides of the blades (which can be removed with gentle filing).The only issue is that the soft(er) plastic grip on the acetate handle of one of the chisels was not properly formed on one side. This is not a major problem; however, it does mean that it feels uncomfortable when gripping it.

It was very difficult finding decent construction chisels with tang through the handle capability. Stanley has a big max version but couldn't find a set of them for less than a few hundred dollars on here. These chisels come is a very nice semi-soft case. Of course they will need some sharpening (nearly all chisels do an arrival). I've been very happy with the performance of these chisels so far. You can really pound on the end knowing it transitions directly down to the edge and the handle is not bearing the stress (like most chisels).

I will defiantly will buy additional sizes. Very well made.

I was really impressed with this chisel.. So sharp out of the box that I used it without a hammer. I've used other chisels in the past, and they were not nearly as good as this one!

Really impressed with this set. I cannot find a single flaw. Each edge was flawless right out of the package. Thru-tang deliver full power of each strike right to the edge. Handles well designed and comfortable to work with. Beautiful set, really well engineered and came in a very well made case to protect them. I am notoriously picky about my tools and it was nice to get MORE than I EXPECTED.

Seemingly solid tang, the rubber grips have worn and almost become fuzzy with how much has come off but the tool hasnt diminished because of it, it maintains a nice wide handle that doesnt cause cramping as quickly as a Pittsburgh handle during repetitive use. The blade portion seems to wear in a standard way without much chipping against reasonable materials.

seems to hold a nice edge and takes the impacts fine. huge issue with grip pilling and rubbing off after very little work. no oils or sunscreen on my hands just sweat and the orange “ rubber?” grip is not holding up.

Had it a week use it every day the high impact but where the hammer connects has come off ! For a tool that costs that much is shouldn’t
