Very basic
Not what I thought it would be, a few spelling errors and not exactly featuring what I would call the best of British cooking. Not sure I'll be using it too often.

Traditional recipes
I searched high and low for a cookery book for my son with all the basics in it. I found it in this one. Perfect. Toad in the hole, cottage pie, sausage and mash etc. A great little find.

Limited gas/electric metric/imperial information
There are recipes for a good range of traditional dishes, but the instructions fail to mention gas or fan oven temperatures.A page with temperature conversions plus imperial/metric conversions would be a bonus if this cannot be added to the individual pages.My first bread and butter pudding was lovely, another one about to go in to the oven now.

Straightforward
Bought this book by mistake for another of similar name but don't regret it. Recipes are very easy to follow and look interesting. Very well presented

Good book for reference
After cooking nearly all my life, I thought I would get this book, just for reference. A good source of information and good value. The only downside is the pages are not shiny, so mark easily if using whilst cooking and can't be wiped..

Simple and straightforward
Ok cook book. The recipes are very simple with basic instructions but, plenty of them and some really lovely ones. If you’re looking for simple and straightforward this is it.
