Very sturdy, professional quality
I am guessing that a delivery person was having a really bad day when this was being shipped. The box looked like someone had used it to play football. But, surprisingly, the contents were undamaged. Not a ding or bend on the unit. I almost didn't buy this because of the reviews that indicated that it was difficult to figure out where the blades go. But, I can assure you that putting the blades in is a trivial matter. They only fit one way and they are very obviously keyed for the slots they are intended for. The box that holds the blades is a great plus for keeping everything organized. The plastic sliding part fits into a track which avoids accidentally slipping left and right but it makes it impossible to cut small things like carrots. But, if you buy a set of "G & F CUTShield Classic Kitchen Cut & Slash Resistant Gloves", you can very safely hold a carrot, celry, onion, or any other small item and cut safely.

Great slicer that doesn't slice very much.
This slicer has great blades and is super easy to keep clean. I'd call this a great product and give it a five star rating, but the food holder and slider mechanism are so poorly designed that I actually can't use this thing. Had I not received this as a gift, I would return it.What's wrong with the food holder? The issue with this slicer's food holder is in both the knobby holding mechanism and the slider. First, the food holder is just a small round knobby pad that sits in the center of the unit. It isn't large enough to hold anything but a small to medium sized potato, and any food that is not a potato isn't held in place at all. Even when I am trying to slice the one size of potato that this unit can handle, I end up having to toss a good fourth of the potato when it becomes thin enough to slide under that large gap in the slider. Why does the slider matter? The other problem is the large gap between the slider and the cutting control surface. Food just slips out through this large gap as the slider and food is moved towards the blades. Then when the food meets the additional resistance of the blades, look out, food goes everywhere. The other day I wanted some slim string like slices of cucumber, so I loaded up the slicer and attempted to slice. What I got was about five of the little strands I wanted, with the rest of the cucumber completely unsliced and all over my counter. With the selectable blades and the nice stainless steel construction this could easily have been the best slicer on the market, but the food holder's shortcomings make it a worthless chunk of metal. I couldn't even recommend this product to someone I don't like, let alone one of my friends. It's very pretty, but it doesn't work.

How do you use this thing?
I had the same issue as another reviewer: there were no instructions and the parts aren't labeled and there's no sort of users' manual whatsoever. So this thing has been sitting in my kitchen for several years unused, because I don't know where the blades/pieces go, nor do I know what each one is for/what it does, and I have no idea how to set up the thing to julienne or waffle cut or whatever. When I google for "how to use" instructions, there are lots and lots of videos of people happily slicing vegetables and whatnot, but I couldn't find anything along the lines of "this thing -- holds up thing -- is called XYZ piece and it goes here -- shows you where -- and don't put it in upside down, and it does this -- holds up french fry." I've always wanted one of these. And this looks like a good one. Too bad I have no clue how to use it. I bet it could save me a lot of chopping time.

I love my new slicer. I cannot wait for spring or even the next reason to have a party with this amazing slicer!
This is absolutely amazing! I started searching online for a mandoline slicer and found this at a very cheap price compaired to others and included free shipping. I thought I would give this a shot. I cannot tell you how impressed I am with this specific Kimmos Stainless Steel Professional Madoline Slicer. This seriously has seven interchangeable blades meaning you pick the one that best meets your need for whatever you are cutting and slide it easily into place. Then use the top handle and slide gently back and forth. This is so easy to use because it is on a incline as well allowing the perfect gliding action for perfect cuts everytime. I have tried everything from carrots, potatoes, onions, tomatoes, zucchini and even a variety of cheese and peppers. I am loving this! I cannot wait until the next part or reason to do a lot of slicing. We have actually been having a ton of salads because this is fun for the full family to use. My sons who are 5, 8 and 10 love to help me in the kitchen now. I cannot express my pure excitement with this specific product. I have attached pictures because like I said, this is truly the best mandoline slicer I have ever used. The last one that I purchased was metal on top but the rest was made of plastic. I highly recommend this to anyone looking for a high quality mandoline slicer! The high quality manufactured slicer will last a long time to come. Great deal, great investment, amazing low price! I love my Kimmos Stainless Steel Professional Mandoline Slicer! Fresh Cut veggies and cheese all around! :D
