The best way to get started ever
Palmistry takes a bit of work. When you start out there is so much you need to know just to get started. Julian has taken all the work out of that work. With his emphasis on memory systems you find the learning becomes effortless. Potentially you could be out reading palms within a few hours of purchasing this product, with is the best endorsement I could give it.And the information is not just bare bones basic - there is enough detail to provide a good quality reading, based on the genuine oracle of palmistry, not on some simplified, gimmicked version. Julian's books have revolutionized the learning of reading systems, and this was my favorite. I have kindle on my phone, so that when I get to a gig I can have a quick look at the flash cards for a speedy refresher before I begin. This book will be of great use to magicians and entertainers, as well as those interested in getting into the business of doing genuine readings. Highly recommended. The absolute best way to start.

Interested in Palm Reading?
Then Julian's new book, "Palmistry: Palm Readings in your own words" is for you! Like his other books (of which I have also read Graphology, the Art of Handwriting Analysis and The James Bond Cold Reading) Julian lays out an easily understood overview of a complex subject. His suggestions and recommendations clearly come from someone that has been involved in the subject for a years and years and carries a great deal of knowledge. Not only does Julian provide the reader with a concise and detailed book on palm reading, but he also provides flash cards free of charge. These cards helped me to grasp what I was working on a bit faster, and all I had to do was print them from my computer!I recommend Palm Readings in your own words to anyone interested in learning how to become a better palm reader.

useful and helpful
Very, very, very, useful and helpful.A real money earner buy this now.How ever for some one who has never done palm readings or any other types of reading before,it is lacking telling a novice to just use their own words if they never expericene doing it because without a working knowledge of learing and or doing cold readings,a novice would not know properly how to really please a client. So one may watch reading done on the internet, pay money to have a short palm reading, read up on how others are doing it,this will give you a stepping stone to become successful

Good- but would be better if it had a few pictures without having to download the flashcards.
Got this for my daughter for Christmas. She was super excited to get the book. We flipped through it, and we knew we had to download the flashcards. I have not seen the flashcards- my daughter took over, but I have to assume there are some pictures. Even though the book clearly states that there are flashcards, I guess I still expected a few visuals in the book.

A Most Excellent Start into Palm Reading!
I enjoyed Julian Moore's presentation style. He touches on all the important basics of Palm Reading in an easy to follow format. If you are interested in learning to read palms, Julian's book is a must. He has excellent tips, illustrations, exercises, and talks about not only the mechanics but developing your own presentation style, along with other learning tools. He points out the most important areas first so you can jump in and get started while following along with the rest of the book. If you are interested in Palm Reading, I highly recommend his book! I plan to check out Julian's other books. Maggie L

Not What I Expected
If I'd known it was all waffle, I never would have gotten it. I was led to believe it had a more scientific approach to palmistry, which makes sense - we use our hands for nearly everything we do. There should be a science behind it, and I have seen some online sources with at least a partial basis - signs of health from actual well-known signs of health etc. This...this was not that. It was as arbitrary as a weekly or daily "horoscope" in a big newspaper. And oddly enough, no pictures. Maybe the digital flashcards have pictures but I'm not a flashcard person, so I wouldn't know - but I do know $10+ for what is little more than a pamphlet that could not have required more research than a search engine is an outrageous price to not also include real product study materials. Yes, pamphlet: it was so exceedingly short I read the entire thing in less than an hour, no I am not a particularly fast reader, I'm average. I have probably owned actual pamphlets that were longer.Example - p. 46 "Children Lines" tell how many children you'll have or good relationships with existing children. THAT is a primary-school level, easily and obviously not going to fit most people superstition, and the convenience of changing it to the relationships with the children if you already have them, is point blank moving the goal posts to fit the person. The how-to-tell-them angle might be useful for someone looking to go professional and sorely lacking in communication skills, but personally, if someone used the author's approach on ME, I'd simply think they were full of shit and trying to be vague and mysterious to cover up not actually knowing anything. Which, if you rely on this book's "meanings" you really won't.Example - p. 49 & 50 there are example things to say for a few traits in a beginning exercise. "Although you can be shy at times you have a spontaneous streak which can sometimes take people by surprise." "You are an outgoing kind of person and you don't usually question you actions. People feel comfortable with you because of your open personality." These are just very weak and obvious catch-alls that could fit anybody under the right circumstance. If I ever open the book again, it will probably be to point at these examples as exactly what I mean when I refer to a pagan-practice-related "meaning" as full of shit and trying to be vague and mysterious to cover up not actually knowing anything.I know for some people all this is just fine, and that's ok for them. It wasn't for me and might not be for someone else too.

Great lesson in how to give a palm reading
I have been thinking about learning palm reading for awhile and every time I did a search it brought me to this book. I finally decided it was time to take the leap; and ordered the hard copy and am on my way to learning step by step an excellent method to do just that. The book is well laid out with lessons/chapters that guide you thru the process of giving a good reading "in your own words". Included is a link for a downloadable audiobook that assists and some flash cards. I look forward to many hours enjoying this tome and reading the memory tips and practice lessons.

Make this your first port of call in the universe of Palm Reading - EXCELLENT STUFF!
The very best, practical book on palmistry I have ever read. Like the rest of Mr. Moore's work, it is all practical, useable stuff. In a very short space of time, you will be giving VALUABLE readings, making your client (and their friends) wanting more (or MOORE!).If you want to learn palm reading, seriously look no further, as it is all here. This book explains more about how to communicate the reading to make it make sense to the client, and also more enjoyable, very, very few books on the subject ever cover this. It's all good knowing about the marks and their names, but completely useless if you don't. Also, you only have to look at some of the names that have read and used this material, Richard OSTERLIND and Craig BROWNING to name but to. This wiull be your go-to reference book.

For the mainstream crowd like me....with thanks.
An engaging and concise guide to Palm reading for the very beginner. I particularly enjoyed:-The well-thought writing style which copes with the most wavering attention span. The flash cards I downloaded as .pdf from the link in my Kindle copy. The conversation starters which are as a guide only - real world practice is the key.Thank you Julian for the time and effort put into this guide which literally anybody can pick up and follow. Yes the purists and forensic geeks may shift in their sanctimonious high chairs whilst buffing their crystal balls, but I believe Mr Moore got the tone about right for this value book.It costs as much as 2 x Sunday newspapers which could end up lining a cat litter tray. The thing I like most about the Kindle version is that I can book mark the hardest to remember stuff then simply look in 'My Clipping' as a quick reference for each part - Brilliant!
