It is very sturdy and the 5" width does a fantastic job of helping to relieve pain and pressure on the spine. I will say, be cautious when you get started. Start with the smaller roller and slowly work your way up. The largest roller is still a little tricky for me and does require some decent balance. However, the I am very comfortable with the small and medium so it's more of a goal to work up to than a frustration.
