I had my doubts…
I honestly bought this on a whim while experiencing a horrible tension headache because I figured that it couldn’t hurt to try. And up until my first use, I was really skeptical about how well it would work, despite all the good reviews. Well, let me tell you, I was pleasantly surprised by how much I liked it! Did it work miracles for me? No, but it did help stretch out the back of my neck to relieve a decent amount of tension. After stretching with this, a dose of Advil, and a round with a heating pad, the majority of my pain was gone. So will it single-handedly cure all your headaches and neck pain? Will it work every time on every type of headache? Probably not. But I don’t regret having this in my bag of tricks at all and I’d definitely buy it again if given the chance.

Magic!
Don't know how or why this works, but I suffer from tension in the neck and shoulders. 15 minutes on this thing and it releases the tension. I suppose you can use it on different surfaces, but I like to lie down on the floor and let my head rest in it. You can feel your neck stretch. After about 15 minutes or so, I feel relief. It's certainly worth a try!

It works after 2.5 weeks.
I had a very bad nerve pain on my neck which started 8 weeks ago. The first month the pain was very bad, and it moved from left to the right side. I couldn't sit for 30 minutes, and working at the computer bought so much pain it was hard for me to focus. Even though I was consciously taking hourly breaks throughout the day and doing mild stretches, I could barely manage my daily activity, but the pain did not reduce too much. I ordered this product from Amazon marketplace, and started using it 2.5 weeks ago. I followed the instructions religiously, which was 15 minutes everyday, it could be any time of the day. These couple of days the pain reduced to a manageable level, and I could actually move my head from side to side without much problem. Even my friends could tell the difference. I understand neck pain has different causes and intensity, it also depends on how you take care of yourself, what kind of bed/pillow you use, etc. This product may not be for everyone, but it helps me and I'd like to share my experience here for everyone's reference.

10 days and no more neck pain!
Ive been using it for 10 days every morning for 20minutes and I really like it. At first my spine hurt as soon as i relaxed my nevk on this thing, but now my neck doesnt hurt, my back doesnt hurt and I feel great. I will be using this for a few months and then give it a short break and back to using it again. Love it

Immediate tension relief!
Works well for relieving neck tension. Compact, sturdy device stores away in a nice drawstring bag. I have migraine headaches and find this helpful to totally relax my neck and support my head.

Not to be used instead of a pillow.
This support was too narrow and flimsy. Not for sleeping during the night. Temporary relief while reclining only for short time.

I bought this to have a second one so that I can leave one at a place I frequently travel to. I have probably had my older one for twenty years. I forgot it on a recent trip. My neck paid the price. I won't ever forget it again! It really helps.

Report from a long-time user
I've had this neck support for about 15 years, so when I saw it listed here, I thought I'd leave a review. My particular problem is spasm in the long muscles of my neck. From there it goes into a migraine. This neck support device is something I use when it first starts to get bad, hoping to align my neck and relax it at the same time. It seems to be a good first move. Lying still with my neck supported while consciously relaxing and paying attention to my breathing isn't magic, but I think it does help. Recently I've also started to use it to support my head as I'm stretched out on the couch and it makes me realize how unsupported it's been the other way. Some comments about how it's made and how well it holds up:It is inexpensive plastic, but it's as strong as it needs to be. The foam padding is starting to shred, as you'll see from my photo, but keep in mind, I've been using it for 15 years. The one structural problem is that the base isn't completely stable. It rocks a bit on the curved bottom piece at one end (the left end in my photo). This isn't fatal--you just have to find a position of balance. The mildness of its helpfulness for me speaks more to how intractable my problem is, rather than the effectiveness of the device itself. Basically, that's the bottom line. We each have different mechanical problems in varying degrees of severity and what is helpful for one person isn't going to do anything for someone else and vice versa. But if the price fits your budget and you or your doctor think it might help, I'd recommend it.
