Review: Hugely Recommended for a Budget Guitar - Man. I have had many cheap Squiers, and while the Classic Vibe series is getting quite good (and pricey) - these Yamahas are nothing to sneeze at. I've always respected the older ones on the secondhand market, but these ones are quite good brand new! I took mine out of the box, and it played perfectly fine. They seem to use decent strings from the factory, and I didn't feel the need to replace them. Action is reasonable and the frets are done quite well. Rolled fretboard edges from the factory! Very impressive. I suppose the only "flaw" I could find is that the electronics are really not that good, which is to be expected at this price point. They're functional, but they're ceramics which lack the clarity of higher-end Alnico pickups. I swapped in some cheap Musiclily Alnico V pickups and put a Gibson humbucker in the bridge position (that I had lying around) and the thing is absolutely perfect now - I would take this thing on a gig. I love mine, I got it with the intention of swapping to a different guitar in the long term, but I think I'm going to keep it. I would seriously recommend one of these over a Squier.

**Q: Where do put the battery in the guitar ?**
A: The guitar is nice and thick, so if you need to cut out a little compartment to store batteries in you should have plenty of room! For a temporary solution, you could probably use some duct tape to strap them to the outside.

**Q: Is there a 240 volt version of this?**
A: I bought mine in the US, but for me to use it in Uganda I had to get a step-up (110/120v to 220/240v) transformer and it worked out fine. However, one can order the pack from Amazon-UK and you will get the 240v version of the amplifier.

**Q: Does the back of the guitar also have sunburst? Or is it flat black?**
A: The back also has sunburst. It's an exceptionally well-crafted, beautifully finished guitar.

**Q: Is this an adult size guitar? is it light?**
A: The package says that it has a Yamaha PAC012, which I bought recently for my 10 year old daughter who is a new player. It is a full sized guitar, but not too big for a young player to start with. It is also not too heavy and its comfortable to hold. It has been a very good starter guitar for her. We bought only the guitar, not the package. Phenomenal guitar. Tune it, play with the whammy bar for a few hours, retune it once or twice, and you'll be set. It has a variety of tones and feels very sturdy.
