One of the Best Nicholas Sparks Books
I was a little hesitant to order or read this book, but I'm so glad that I did. At one point in my life when I was reading his books I became upset over how many of his characters had such a hard time in life and had lost a pet, a family member or a friend. This book explained it all and now I understand. This book let's us not only travel around the world with him and his brother but also travel with him through his life. Thank you Nicholas for such an awesome book. It touched me deeply. Wish I could say it in person, but this will have to do. Now I have to go back and reread all of your books with a new perspective. Keep writing and I will keep reading!

Thought provoking
This book makes a person think of all the things in their life. Good things, not so good things, sad things, happy things and things we should be thankful for.

Bought after already reading it years ago
Recently bought this because of the impact that it made on me almost a decade ago when i first read it. Probably his best book.

Made a grown man cry and think
To see a famous author open his heart and share such personal stories is a feat I find amazing. Most in his situation guard their privacy but he shared so intimately details of his life to prove behind the facade of success real life exists. Thank you Nicholas for your raw truth and willingness to share.

Beautiful Family Story ....
This story makes so much of a number of his books much more meaningful knowing now how much of his real life is the motivation. I've read all but one of his novels and have loved each and every one, now even more having finished Two Brothers!!!

No expectations, so no disappointment
I had no expectations when I started this book, so I cannot say I had any disappointments. I owned a used book store for several years, and Sparks books perennially sold very well, and several customers told me they thought this was better than his fiction. No one ever told me anything about what sort of book it was or what it dealt with, so the only thing I had to go on was the cover blurbs. I had the opportunity, so I gave it a try. The writing is very good (not having read any of Nicolas Sparks' fiction, I cannot compare it to those). The title and the blurbs led me to think I was going to read about Nicholas and Michael Sparks' time spent together. What it turned out to be was an extremely light reporting of their 3 week 'round the world tour (not a lot of information and very little impressions) serving as a platform for extensive autobiographical flashbacks. As such it was an interesting vehicle to construct an autobiography around, and the autobiography itself was interesting and engaging - much better than most I've read. Like good fiction, I was anxious to read on and find out how things turn out (I won't give any spoilers). It claims to have been jointly written, and if that's true I absolutely could not see two different people in the writing. It definitely was good enough to lure me into reading some other Nicholas Sparks books.

This was one of the best books I have ever read.
Great book. Once you pick it up you can not put it down. You may also need a box of tissues.

Faith and love overcomes tragedy
I loved this book which was two stories in one. The details of the wonders of the world were made so very real in the telling as was the heartbreak each brother endured. The unfailing love of God shone through in the writers story and echoed my own feelings when things have gone (so it seemed) hopelessly wrong. A heart warming as well as humorous book.

Thought invoking
This book is inspirational, so much so that I purchased a second one to give to my best friend. I was able to relate to many of the thoughts and trials that Nicholas and his brother encountered and it helped me to reflect. Many times I read a part of the book and found myself lost in my own thoughts. This is a great read, it allows you to visit magical parts of the world that many of us will never in our life time visit, however the book isn't just about places, this is a wonderful, happy yet often tragically sad personal journey which Nicholas and Micah have allowed us to step inside. It would be a joy to read a follow on book and learn how the family are growing.

I love the novels by Nicholas Sparks and this was his best ever and obviously a true story. I couldn't put it down. I have now read all his books and cannot wait for his latest.
