Ignore the price. This is a superior blade!
I wondered how good a knife like this could be when it (currently) costs about $7. But, WOW. This is a great knife with excellent design, made out of a very flexible, very hard, very tough high carbon stainless steel. I honestly don't think you would get a better knife at 10 or 20 times the price. Blades are kind of a hobby of mine. My wife keeps telling me to stop buying any more knives, but I love them and find the whole process of making an excellent blade to be a fascinating topic. For instance, I have written several articles about the fabled 'Damascus Steel' of ancient times, and this blade far surpasses any Damascus Steel blade that is known or has been tested. This knife is full tang, hefty, beautiful, and made out of 7Cr17MoV high carbon stainless steel. 7Cr17MoV is a modified, improved version of an industry standard blade steel, 440A (for instance, CUTCO uses 440a). But it then has more Vanadium added for extra hardness and toughness, yet it still retains is flexibility and durability. Vanadium is harder than most steels, but is not brittle. In the blade, during the manufacturing process, the Vanadium combines with the high carbon content to form Vanadium Carbide. Vanadium Carbide, with a hardness of 9-9.5 Mohs, is possibly the hardest metal-carbide known. High Vanadium steels often have a Rockwell Hardness rating of 60, making them much harder, sharper and stronger than most blades.I like to test the sharpness of my blades by using them to shave the hair on my arms. Some blades are never sharp enough to do this. Some blades will do this, but only with some extra pressure. This knife shaves the hair smoothly, cleanly and softly. The extreme sharpness is obvious, but what is even more impressive is how that sharpness is combined with the durability of the Vanadium Stainless Steel. There are no perfect knives, because each knife depends on the user, and the purpose for which it is used. But it really is pretty tough to find a knife better than this. If you think you are interested, then don't hesitate to buy it.

Very very good value
For $6.88 this knife is the best value for a kitchen knife I've ever seen. It arrived sharp but not finely honed. Once I spent an hour or so tuning the knife, it's 100% as good as my $150+ knives, at 1/20 the $. My only complaint is the edge was slightly overground near the hilt, and the steel is slightly harder than I prefer. I do worry about chipping when cutting hard/frozen things, though I haven't had any chipping yet.I feel bad for spending thousands of $ on expensive knives when I could have the same performance with this one for pocket change and an hour if work.

Great value, great knife
I teach cooking classes to groups of folks. I ended up buying four of these knives for an upcoming class and they worked very well. Very sharp and just what I needed. Definitely a great value for your $$$

Very sharp
I'm so happy I took a chance on this "cheap" knife! All of my mom's knives are ancient, it was a hassle cutting meat or slicing veggies. Now I bring this knife (in it's handy storage box) if we ever go cook at her house. For this price, I'll have to order mom one too!
