The tractor had been converted from 6 volt. Still has the front mount distributor with the coil on top. I think the Per Tronix will work on either 6 or 12 volt. **Q: is this a kit that comes with everything shown in the photo. or is it just a replacment modual? my 8n is converted to 12v. neg. gr.** A: Comes with everything in the photo. I put it on my 8n with meg ground 12 v conversion and made it run like a champ. **Q: will this fit a 8n side distributor tractor?** A: No, this is for front mount. Need 1244a if you haven’t changed to 12v negative ground.
