Worls great on rims with clearcoat.
Have used Wheelwax on many vehicles with clearcoated rims and the product works well. The product goes on easy and has an easy removal. It does not work well on painted matte coated rims. I tried 1 matte rim and it did not go on easy and was difficult to remove. Overall a great product for certain applications.

This product is great
I have used this product on my last 5 vehicles because it works great. The wheels must be cleaned really well before applying - but once you have done that, the product is easily applied and easily buffed off. The protection is long-lasting (months not weeks) as long as you don't go through car washes which use harsh chemicals and abrasive souring wheels. I find that the pressure from my garden hose is all that is needed to get the dirt and brake dust off of the wheels.

Cleans and protects as advertised
This is my second tub of WheelWax.For many years I've been using it on the OEM 15" 5 lug steel wheels of my 2014 Tacoma. These are my summer wheels. I only use car wash shampoo on them so the wax lasts most of the season. Since wheels are not banged up the WheelWax keeps them looking like new, and clean up very easily. The wax applies without much effort and is as difficult to remove as a carnuba wax. Some effort but not too bad.I have another set of Used OEM 15" 5 lug wheels for winter, that are beat up. I recently got 4 New chrome wheelskins for them but was out of WheelWax, so I tried the polymer sealant wax I use on the trucks paint. After a couple of Colorado winter storms I washed the wheelskins but could not remove the stains left from road ice melt. Dish detergent and simple green could not remove the stains from the first hubcap. So when I got the new tub of WheelWax I messaged some in and the stains were gone with out a single swirl mark. With a little more effort than normal waxing, all 4 hubcaps looked like new again. So WheelWax is an effective and safe cleaner, even on chromed plastic hubcaps.I also use the WheelWax on my exhaust tip. Very durable and cleans up easily. But I have to reapply it more often in winter than in summer.I even use it on my headlights, getting better protection than the car sealant wax I use on the paint.I haven't tried other waxes made for wheels, so I can't compare, but I'm really satisfied with WheelWax.

The consistency of mayonnaise but it spreads easy and you don't have to use very much
Used on two cars so far. One thing I can say is it is much runnier than any wax I have ever used. The consistency of mayonnaise but it spreads easy and you don't have to use very much. Drys very quickly and remove will take some elbow grease and time depending on the complexity of your wheels. Basket weave or multi spoke type wheels will be fun but the rub off is gratifying as it comes off clean and is what you expect from a wax. A lot of these waxes that wipe off wet make me wonder if I have really done anything. I can say the shine left behind on clear coat aluminum is spectacular. My 11 year old wheels almost look new. I would definitely suggest cleaning, claying, re-cleaning and thoroughly drying your wheels prior to application. Like most paste waxes apply in the shade on cool/cold wheels. I applied to all four then whet back around to remove with a nappy microfiber, not the super soft polishing type. Use that after the wax is removed for a final buff out. I don't know how long the protection will last but we will see.

Makes a noticeable difference that lasts but...
I bought this to see if it would extend the amount of time between brake dust cleanings. I waxed the rear wheels when I replaced my brakes. In comparison to the front rims which I only cleaned, there is noticeably less dust (more shine /cleaner appearance) than the fronts. It's been a month of almost daily ceramic brake usage. I will use the remainder of the wax on all rims but don't plan to purchase more{a little goes a looong way!) Labor plus expense probably not worth it. We'll see. My rims are a satin aluminum. Looked great after application!

Great stuff and makes your wheels much easier to clean.
I bought this Wheel Wax at the same time as Maguire's D14001 Wheel Brightener. A big duuuhhhhh moment, as the stuff is expensive. I've found a good polymer wax on my perfectly cleaned wheels make them WAY easier to clean. Maguire's D14001 Wheel Brightener is pretty strong stuff. From everything I've read, not strong enough to damage clear coat, but strong stuff. Definitely wipes out the wheel wax that takes a long time to apply. Like I said, duuuhhhh I should have known that. But this wheel wax does the trick. Like any polymer wax, make sure your wheels are squeaky clean. Apply a light coat, let dry to a haze and remove with a microfiber rag. Let that cure for at least an hour or 2 and apply a second or even third coat. When a solid few layers is cured, and re-applied to cleaned wheels occasionally, you will find the task of wheel cleaning and brake dust removal WAY easier. The key is the curing time and getting enough coats applied.

Very happy with this wax
Clean your wheels first and then apply this wax; it goes on easy and comes off with a little wiping.Once it's on, your wheels are much easier to keep clean.I generally apply in Spring and Fall.

Great Stuff. High Gloss & Lasts For Months
I've been using Wheel Wax for about a year now. For the first application, I applied two coats. Now, I apply one coat every three months when I wax my Camaro. I recommend clay baring and polishing to a high luster before using Wheel Wax. But it does have a polishers built in to keep your wheels looking great for months. It is easy to apply and leaves a very slick surface.Does it keep your wheels cleaner? No, and you shouldn't believe that a protective coating will keep brake dust from settling on your wheels. However, cleaning brake dust off your wheels is much easier. It provides a barrier of protection so contaminants don't bond to the clear coat.I notice that as long as I keep a coat of Wheel Wax applied on a regular bases, my wheels look great with no need to polish or clay between applications. The gloss is fantastic and seems to last for months. Highly recommended, especially if your wheels are already clean and polished to a high gloss. In this condition, application and removal is super easy.
