Electronic Claw Toy Grabber Machine with LED Lights and Toys

Although there were many negative reviews complaining that the machine stopped working after a few days, I decided to order it anyway and try my luck. Ours arrived nicely packaged and worked right away. It even came with some starter toys to grab. My kids got several hours of play out of it. It is indeed very loud and needs some dampening cardboard or tape on the underside (can be done inside too).Unfortunately, the next day it stopped working. Inserting more coins would not activate it. I tried replacing batteries, but no luck.Although I could simply send it back, I figured it's a trivial product...can't be that complicated, so I decided to open it and check for loose connections.What I found is that the coin slot has a somewhat error-prone design in that it can get stuck thinking there is a coin the whole time. In other words, the circuit is constantly closed instead of momentarily opened-closed-opened as the coin falls through. The way it works is there are a pair of thin metal strips that touch when the coin passes. That closes the circuit momentarily and starts the game. When the coin is inserted, it pushes against a red plastic slot guide that in turn pushes the strips together. In this case, the slot guide was stuck holding the strips together. You cannot see this from the outside, so it was not obvious that it was stuck. I think it could be unstuck with a light tap on the coin slot, but I simply loosened the screws from inside so it moves a little more freely.Attached are pictures showing the inside and a close-up of the coin mechanism. You can see the metal strips touching when the coin passes.I suspect many of the reviews complaining that it stopped working after a brief time are due to this coin mechanism getting stuck, which is unfortunate as it's a simple fix. Was skeptical from reading reviews but my daughter REALLY wanted this so I purchased it. Was worried when it didn't seem to work after I put batteries in and turned it on but then realized you have to put coin in the slot to start the game. It came with a few tiny toys but I added our own as well. Lights are cute. Sound too loud for parents, but not for kids,.. just put tape over the speaker to quiet it some. Cute game and worth the money 😊

My kids love this thing. It was super easy to set up. It takes 3 D batteries. You need to move the claw out of the way when you want to fill it up with candy or toys. We bought SpongeBob crabby patty gummies in the small individually wrapped packages and I don't think they were a good choice after all. They were too big for the claw most of the time. You really only want 1" depth for the items in the machine. If you put too much candy in there and it's above 1" depth the claw can't work correctly. I think the gum shown in the picture is the perfect size and shape of item to put in here.The first day we had it I think every neighborhood kid used it and even with a dozen kids playing on it it did not break which was a pleasant surprise. It's hard enough to keep them hooked on playing because you don't win every win. But, they do win often enough that they don't lose interest. I win about 25% of the time when I play.I am taking one star away because the music that the machine plays is loud, annoying and cannot be turned off. I should take 4 stars away for not having a volume control or on/off switch but the fun that my kids have had makes it worth it. The machine also has no lights so the picture that shows bright neon lights on the side is just for illustration.

Bought this for my fiancé who loves claw machines, and we use it as a party game lol! I was hesitant about buying it because reviews mentioned it wouldnt work for long, but we’ve had no problems and it also comes with a troubleshooting sheet. The materials are not top quality so you have to take care of the game, like making sure it can’t get knocked over often or that players arent jerking the controls too hard. The volume also has three settings so you can completely mute it if you wish. Over all if something were to happen to it, it doesn’t look very hard for any adult to repair. I’m super happy with this product and my fiancé loves it!

My kid got the amazon open and ordered this claw machine without our consent (FU Buy-It Now lol). Did not know it was coming until I got an email advising the order would be delivered tomorrow. Instead of returning it we decided to keep it however, and it has been a good decision. The claw machine was on sale and has provided fun for kids 2-6 years old so far. It came with balls filled with tiny dinosaurs, which are a choking hazard for little kids. We have been re-filling the balls that came with it with candy instead. We have also been adding Grossery Gang toys, the claw picks them up very well. Great value for the money.
