This PFD has served well. It is compact and given no problems with regular use. It is a requirement in many situations to wear a PFD, even when many might not. This fills the requirement. However, if in a situation were there was a risk of falling into the water, I would have concerns about this type of PFD. The self inflation device could fail and this unit does not have a manual infiltrator. The device has an automatic inflation mechanism that will likely fail over time (salt gets at everything). This is a descent choice for day sailors that need a PFD and do not want the encumbrance or cost of a more reliable systems.

I did not know when I purchased this that it did not have a manual inflator. There was a fatality in the Chicgo Macinack race this past year where someone was lost because his vest did not inflate. I don't trust a vest without some way to manually inflate it... I will probably be selling this one since I no longer wear it because I no longer trust this type of vest. I would not buy a vest again without a manual way to inflate it.

Liked the quality. Large gas cartridge and offshore rated. Comfortable. Coastal N.C. summer is ugly hot. Have some breathing room.

Very comfortable move freely don't even kno you have it on very comfortable neck area. Only thing haven't tried is to see if it floats I'll take my chances because I am not gonna jump into 40 degree water to see if it works I am sure it has been tested for all that....well worth the money took about a month to get it because it was on the slow boat from China found out after I ordered it but it was half price actually I got two for the price of one just had to wait a little longer for delivery...

This is a decent life jacket. The manual lists 3 different inflator types so you have to pull it apart to see which you have (mine was a Halkey Roberts, pretty standard salt tablet based inflator). My only possible complaint is that it is a little stiff and has a mesh around the neck area that isn't as comfortable up against bare skin right out of the box as my mustang life jacket which has a soft leather collar. But it is comfortable enough and as a second jacket on board it works well and the price is right.

Great durable product! As with any inflatable form of lifesaving equipment, you need to manually inflate it to check for integrity of the product to gain confidence while wearing it. The one I ordered had a flaw, and the company warrantied the product with an immediate response.

Gift for a friend who was bullied as a kid, pushed overboard. He doesn't worry now.
