Great except the charger cable needed some extra work
This wall mount case is exactly what I was looking for to permanently mount a 4th gen iPad to the wall for home control apps. The design of the case and the relative thinness of the iPad however places the charger port so close to the frame that the lightning connector is extremely tight and a visible bulge can be seen. Apart from the aesthetics, I am concerned about the force being applied to the charger port. My solution was to remove the casing from around the lightening connector head. This was fairly easy with a heat gun. The protective metal casing simply slid off once the glue was warmed up enough. This reduced the connector head thickness from 0.25β to only 0.1β and pretty much eliminates the bulging. I then used a piece of heat shrink tubing to provide some protection although itβs all protected behind the wall. I also had to remove about 2β of the sheet rock material on the inside to create a pocket of relief where the connector extends out leaving just the paper of the sheet rock intact. The result looks great but it did take some extra steps to create the desired look.

Best looking mount there is!
This is the best looking mount there is. It's not a particularly sophisticated part, but there isn't much competition. There are some several-hundred-dollar wall mounts with complete enclosures, security mechanisms and what not, but they look really ugly and mask the beauty of the iPad.The intention is to create a hole (about the size of the iPad) in your sheetrock and mount it flush with your wall. If you're like me and prefer not to make holes in your wall, yet aren't comfortable with adhesive approaches (too many "mounts" for sale use 3M command strips) holding up your iPad, you can also just drill some mounting screws and mount it on the wall on the surface. Granted, it's not as clean, but I actually like the floating look.Another thing about mounting it flush with your wall is the need to fish the dock connector / USB cable. By mounting it on the wall surface, sure, seeing cables isn't very sightly, but having the little slot where the dock connector goes exposed makes removing the iPad once it's mounted MUCH MUCH easier. Otherwise with the flush mount approach you'll spend several minutes shimmying it hoping you don't damage the iPad. Actually, since the iPad holds such a large amount of charge, when I have guests over, I can just remove the USB cable and it'll look great.PROS:* Looks much nicer than any other mount for sale, regardless of being less expensive than most other mounts.* Relatively easy to mount. It's just a piece of plastic you screw into the wall. Whether or not you want to mount it flush is up to you.* Made in the USA! (at least according to the package!)CONS:* To get the full experience of a fully flush iPad you have to drill into the sheetrock* Hard to install/remove iPad once it's in there (especially if flush mounted)Overall I'm really happy I bought this! I really wasn't sure about wall mounting my iPad but it's great and I won't go back to a table stand!

Great way to use that old ipad!
I had my iPads laying around collecting dust so i decided to mount them for entertainment purposes or home automation. After looking around i found that mounts are very expensive until i found this wall mount! I bought 2! The cut out is included and you provide the mounting screw =). To give this installation a cleaner look , I do recommend using a down angle dock connector to avoid having to cut out a notch on the wall for the original connector and a POE usb kit for iPad to power it up with ethernet . Keep in mind that this mount secures the iPad to the point where it makes it very difficult to remove so this is more for the intent to permanently have your ipad on the wall. StarTech1m (3 ft) Down Angle Apple 30-pin Dock Connector to USB Cable for iPhone / iPod / iPad with Stepped Connector WS-POE-USB-Kit for iPad or Tablet, Remote USB Charger Via PoE Ethernet Cable up To 328 Feet With 5 Volts 10 Watts and Female USB

Incredible Deal for such a great product!
Ok,So first off, the other ratings on this product are clearly from people that don't want to do the work or aren't comfortable with DIY projects like this. You can pay hundreds of dollars for other mounts and get very little more in return.I picked this one namely because of price and to be honest I was worried before the mount arrived that it might be super cheap plastic and nothing more. It certainly is plastic, but a very ridged well refined piece of plastic. it holds and LOCKS the iPad in without issue and I have ZERO worries about it falling out. The manufacturer tells you that the tighter you can screw into the Wall-Studs the better the fit and this is true as well. I would highly recommend this mount for any home automation enthusiast that wants a very FLUSH fit mount that looks sleek and professional. The only possible negative thing I could say is, this is not intended for folks that want to remove the ipad from the wall often. Once the device is clicked into the mount, ITS IN THERE! you need some type of spudger or super thin metal object to gently pry it past the locking tabs. Enjoy!!
