Ingeniously interwoven metal fibers, but runs small and scratchy
I prep a lot of vegetables for our family and have been meaning to invest in a pair of these for years. My first surprise getting the package tonight was that this is a SINGLE GLOVE ONLY. For the price, I expected a pair. But I'd have kept the glove if it weren't so itchy and tight-fitting. My hands run on the large side, but even these "large" gloves are too tight--like rubber dish-washing gloves that are so tight they cut off your circulation... I also have long fingers, so the gloves don't reach down to my hand's finger-webbing. As a result, I can't hold vegetables stably wearing this glove. I'm afraid it will have to go back.To end on a positive, the glove seems well-made (if you have smaller hands) and seem like it would protect my hand from an errant knife swipe. Just beware "large" may still be far too small if you have larger hands like I do.

Great product but run big.
These are great but a little big. I work on a fishing boat and these have saved me quite a few times. They make fabric ones but they are prone to ripping. These are metal mesh so a lot more sturdy.

Protects your hands & Made in the U.S.A.!
I have a tendency to get a little too fast for my own good when I am cutting things. I also tend to get a little too risky when trimming fat from the outside of my steak. I have some very sharp knives for these purposes and the cuts that I get can be pretty serious. So when I saw the Honeywell Cut-Resistant Stainless Steel Fillet Glove, I thought that it would definitely be worth a try.My biggest concerns were whether it would be too much trouble to bother with, too bulky to use and/or too hard to clean afterwards. As another reviewer mentioned, I too expected something like a chain-mail glove - something out of a medieval armor set! LOL. Nothing could be further from that - the glove feels more like a stretchy fabric than steel or metal. It is very comfortable and the size Large that I ordered fit my hands just fine. There is a sizing chart that should help you get the right size and if you don't, I'm sure that Amazon will help you get it straightened out so that you do get the right size. For me, since the glove fit, I moved on to trying it and looking into how it worked and whether it worked. Like many other reviewers, the next thing I did was proceed to try and cut my hand off. I grabbed a sharp knife, grabbed it firmly in my hand and pulled the knife out of my hand as I squeezed down on it.Fortunately, the product worked as described and did not cut my palm. Instead, it dulled my blade a bit, and protected my hand beautifully.I should note that the glove is made by Honeywell. I grew up on the East coast of Florida and both my brother and dad worked for NASA their whole lives. For us, the name "Honeywell" means quality, made in the U.S.A. products as Honeywell was a NASA contractor for most of the time that my father and brother worked there. I trust Honeywell products, and the fact that they are made in the U.S.A. is a bonus. It is nice to know that you are supporting other Americans when you buy these gloves. It should also be noted that these gloves are competitively priced with other imported gloves that do the same thing. In summary, I was impressed with the Honeywell Cut-Resistant Stainless Steel Fillet Glove. It fit nicely, it feels like fabric, not metal and it is not overly heavy or uncomfortable. It is easy to rinse off under the faucet, made in the U.S.A. and it really works. Five stars all the way and I would gladly recommend this to anyone looking for a safety glove when cutting with a sharp knife.

I can finally grate those last bits of cheese!
I was a bit skeptical when I took this glove out of the package because it seemed so, well, regular glove-like. But after using it on several occasions, I am very happy, and frankly surprised, with how well it works. I wasn't really sure I'd use it, but now that I have it, I use it all the time.I've used it with several of my Microplanes and can get right to the last bit of what I'm grating without any damage to the glove or to my fingers.I especially love this for cheese! I was always annoyed by not being able to grate that last bit of cheese for fear of cutting my fingers on the grater. This glove allows me to get every bit of the cheese I've grated without having a chunk left over that I invariably popped in my mouth. I far prefer being able to put it all in the recipe!!!I am one of those people who cut food while holding it in my hand. Not a good idea, I know, and I am not recommending it. But bad habits are hard to break, so I have done the same using this glove without any loss of dexterity and will continue to be a safer "chef" by continuing to use the glove in this manner.Although I have not used this with a big mandoline set to julienne, I have used it with a handheld one and neither it nor I suffered any damage. This is also great for filleting or cutting horizontally since you can hold the item on top and cut without much concern. That's the one cutting job that makes me nervous, but one that I can better tackle with this glove.Note: I always tested this glove on the blade I was using before actually cutting with it. It fared best with straight blades - the knit material caught on serrated blades but I only use those to cut bread and tomatoes anyway.

Perfect for chef use in kitchen with regular knife eege
These fit large size with no problem. They are comfortable enough to use and can fit either left or right hand. They definitely protect against sharp edge knife with no problem. Even sawing back and forth on the glove on a cutting board I did nothing but dull a sharp chefs knife.A single cut with a serrated knife though is enough to damage the woven material. While I think they will protect hands for a serrated knife it would wear out the glove pretty quickly.I had no issue washing it but I definitely would NOT use these for cutting any meat because bacteria would build up on the material (unless you use them as disposable).
