Excellent for a bug out bag and sharpening high quality knives. This larger stone appears to be more area to grab and in case you're not used to using a whetstone like the dc4 wear leather or kevlar cut resistant gloves. If the knife is really bad this will take some time. I use it for a quick sharpening until I can get to my larger sharpening equipment.
