It simply does NOT work! The foxes and cats which have taken over our garden merely ambled by only inches away in front, and 2 foxes enjoyed a relaxing sunbathing session feet away, all with not a care in the world showing the uselessness of devices of this type. After this, it started raining for a day which revealed the total lack of waterproofing. All the front sensors were misted over with water droplets and the firing sensor was going beserk. The very next day the batteries were totally flat despite being placed in full sunshine, Note that the UK is not in the Tropics, and it's inevitable the solar part will give up. Some reviews here seem to be confused about solar and batteries, as if the two work separately. They don't, of course, and the lifespan is bound to be very limited. Returned for a refund which was very prompt. Never again!

Believe it or not I bought this not to get rid of cats but to try to keep mine... We live right by a busy road & although we have a huge garden & beautiful forest out the back we've already lost 2 cats to the road out the front & we would be devastated to lose our 3rd...so this was suggested by a colleague in work. We've put it by our front gate to try to deter our cat from going that way - it's hard to judge how well it's working as she only goes that way every so often. But when we held the device up near her, her ears went back & she moved away so I'm hoping it will do the trick to at least put her off using that route. I was so pleased to find a solar powered version as well as it means I don't have to faff about with wiring or keeping an eye on batteries running out. It's has several different settings & also a full anti wildlife mode that's quite full on with flashing lights so we may scare off a few other things in the process too!

Be careful where you locate this because it is pretty efficient. Honestly, I didn't trust seller's specs about the radius, and I kind of scared my neighbor's cat. Sorry about that. I've put the device on the terrace, to keep the rats away. Living next to a canal has its risk. By the way, the poor cat reacted, I am sure the device is doing the job properly. Also, it is waterproof for sure, since it did rain since I put it on the terrace. Good purchase. So far, I am very pleased with it.

More difficult than I thought to install

Used for 2 weeks in direct sunlight and now the batteries are flat. Solar panel not charging and the batteries cannot be charged separately as they are sealed and wired together. Rubbish cheap item waste of money.
