I didn't like these tongs at all, so I sent them back. They are spring loaded but not self locking, (which is what I really wanted). These tongs did not feel good to me, had I held them in a store I would have put them back. I have found the brand that I really like (self locking) I have a pair of these already but need another set for vacation home. I was excited when they first showed up. They were exactly what I wanted. However, one of the tongs doesn't spring. It gets stuck in the closed position and I have to pull them apart to pick things up. The spring is still intact, it just gets stuck. Kind of a bummer since I was replacing tongs that the spring did break. Since these are professional grade, I was expecting more than a week out of them. The other one is fine, so there's that. :(

Very sturdily made. Not flimsy. No locking feature that I can discover, but that does not matter to me. The two sizes are the best sizes for tongs.

I am a Chef and very picky about tongs as you tend to use them for a lot things besides the BBQ. Well these are professional grade and was very pleased with the quality. They are heavy duty not those flimsy store bought kind. So why not 5 stars well as I said I am picky I find the spring too be a little too strong and my hand gets tired after half hour of use. I know most people do not have tong in their hands that long so it is just me or other professionals that may care. I really like the quality so I am hope that the spring will loosen up some with use.

Very sturdy. Washes perfectly in dishwasher and the spring doesn't rust. They don't lock.
