Falco 60

If I did my own two CD "best of Falco" collection I would have only chosen two or three songs differently from this compilation. Strangely -- probably for licensing reasons? -- there is no material from the posthumous "The Spirit Never Dies" album, and this is a serious flaw; there are songs on that album (Nuevo Africano, Dada Love) that are vastly superior to ones included on Falco 60 (e.g. the utterly unlistenable Push! Push!). Some of the remixes are oddly chosen (the version of Verdammt, Wir Leben Noch is much better on the original album than on this compilation) but it is really a nice collection. The third disc, a collection of out-takes and remixes, is entertaining in its own right. It is nice to have Body Next To Body included in a "best of" collection, and it's great to have the release years of each song clearly noted so you can see Falco's evolution as an artist and performer.

For Falco fans, this CD is a must! Rare recordings, single versions and cool live versions of Rock Me Amadeus and Flying High are just a few of the gems on this triple CD package!

Amazing record!!

This wonderful package contains most of Falco's best songs along with a bonus disc of hard to find tracks and remixes. My only complaint is that the original single versions are not used (with exception of "Rock Me Amadeus" (in it's never on CD before American Edit) and The Sound of Muzik).

There are over 40 Falco compilations available but this one is pleasantly different: on CD1 and CD2 you not only find all of his hits but also the best album tracks from all of his album from 1982 to 1998. So it starts with „Ganz Wien“ (1981) and ends with his last hit „Out Of The Dark“ (1988) which was released posthumously. What I like is that all the songs here are ranked chronologically, this way you can perfectly see his musical but also lyrical metamorphosis over the years. And they also used rare single edits of his hits with some songs, therefore you find the far better ‚American Edit‘ of Falco’s greatest hit „Rock Me Amadeus“ here, this is the edit that brought him to the #1 spot of the US-Billboard charts in 1986 and also to the top of the UK charts. The selection of the songs on the first two CDs is brilliantly balanced, you find song from all of Falco’s eight studio albums here, thus summarizing Falco’s career impressively, not only for fans but also for newcomers to his work. On CD3 you find stuff that will make every fan’s heart beat faster: for the first time there are Falco’s cooperations with other artists included, songs which you could only find on some hard-to-find and out-of-print releases. Add to that iconic live tracks (from 1985, shortly before Falco became a worldwide superstar) and original 80s extended and maxi-versions of which most have never been available on CD before (it includes the US-only Shep Pettibone 12“ Remix of „Do It Again“ and also Falco’s Giorgio Moroder produced duet with Brigitte Nielsen, „Body Next To Body“, as well as the John Luongo remixed „Junge Roemer“ for the first time on CD!) and you have lots of stuff you can get excited about! As a bonus you also find 4 new remixes by young Austrian artists like Parov Stelar which are not too bad either. All in all, it’s easy to say that this is by far the best and most comprehensive Falco Best-Of! It’s absolutely recommended not only for newcomers to Falco’s unique body of work but also for hardcore Falco fans. To sum it up: it’s brilliant, buy it! :-)

Outside of the known hits... this is a pass.. move on.

I was totally obsessed with Falco in the 80's. I am so enjoying this this CD set. Nice memories and some awesome music. A few I have never heard before. Nice compilation.

For 6$ I was expecting a used CD. This was a brand new CD, which in Austria retails for minimum 30$. Very happy with my purchase!

Una bella raccolta di successi in doppio vinile color giallo. Preso per nostalgia della mia adolescenza, ho trovato canzoni che non conoscevo, ma molto belle. I brani più famosi ci sono tutti e mi ha fatto piacere ritrovare una canzone di cui mi ero scordato ( Body next to body che cantò con Brigitte Nielsen). Per fan di Falco, ma anche per chi come me è un nostalgico degli anni 80. Una raccolta davvero ben fatta
