The only holes what is on the outside plastic box is, power cable going in (back), power cable to light (bottom). This is running my outdoor back garden flood light ( mainly used for when the dogs go out ). My back garden flood light has direct power & I have a light that has a sensor on it but when the dogs are a little to far away from it of course it powers down. OK, really not for the dogs they can see a little better than me but safes me stood outside waving my arms around but also if I walk down the garden I can take the key fob with me & if the light goes off I can easily switch it back on again . So I decided to install this. Press the Key Fob from inside my conservatory (key fob to light - 20ft away) works every time. If the light goes off (senor timer) I just switch it off and back on again. The plastic box isn't that thick so at night i can see a little green light to let me me know that it is powered on by the remote switch. It was so easy to install & if you need to read any instructions for the install they come with it. You get two key fobs, I only use the one for now but if that battery dies or goes faulty I have a back up. Better than rewiring for a switch to be fitted to the light. Great product & with also having to buy a outside protector for it was not a lot of money. I would recommend this product, It's doing a great job. I used the switch to switch a LED transformer. Wired my outside lights to the transformer and changed the bulbs to 12v led lamps. Guess it might switch the circuit still at 240v if the ampage us below the switch capacity. **Q: Hi will I damage the unit by installing a bypass switch between input and output , so that I can switch on the light without the key fob ?** A: I am not an electrician and you should consult one before carrying out modifications to the wiring instructions. I cannot see any reason why a switch cannot be introduced between the the "live in" and "live out". If the remote is operated it will be closing a switch relay inside the unit doing the same. **Q: Will this work on a 16 amp circuit for an extractor? Thanks** A: Yes, it should... It's rated at 40 amps. It does seem a bit flimsy for 40 amps but it is worth a try... If the rating is over generous then it just fail in months rather than years.
