A Phillips screwdriver is also required for changing blades on the chopping discs. I found the chopping discs did discolour slightly when cleaned in a dishwasher. The most confusing omission was that the blade mechanism can simply be lifted out for changing options – something you’d expect to be documented. All in all, I found the machine to be quite labour-intensive but efficient once running. It tends to chop mainly by gravity, so the dicing and slicing options aren’t always precise. It also has lots of nooks and crannies, so cleaning isn’t as simple as the manufacturer suggests. Put simply, this is a high-volume slicer/dicer for batch cooking or a small commercial kitchen. It contains very few plastic parts, which gives it a robust feel and suggests it may last a long time.
