A: About 5.5 x 2.5 inches.  Plenty of room for normal 1/4 lb butter.

A: I use the 1/4 butter stick n at times I put two

**Q: Is this just thin and pressed stainless steel or is it thicker and heavier with some weight to it?**
A: This butter dish is not thin nor is it too heavy. Its made from 0.7 mm gauge 18/10 stainless steel.

It is very nice. It will hold two sticks of butter. Cleans easily. It’s not a heavy stainless steal, more like a thin metal. It does show fingerprints. It’s a little expensive for the quality but I do like it.
