Charles Darwin’s classic that exploded into public controversy, revolutionized the course of science, and continues to transform our views of the world. Few other books have created such a lasting storm of controversy as The Origin of Species . Darwin’s theory that species derive from other species by a gradual evolutionary process and that the average level of each species is heightened by the “survival of the fittest” stirred up popular debate to fever pitch. Its acceptance revolutionized the course of science. As Sir Julian Huxley, the noted biologist, points out in his illuminating introduction, the importance of Darwin’s contribution to modern scientific knowledge is almost impossible to evaluate: “a truly great book, one which can still be read with profit by professional biologist.” Includes an Introduction by Sir Julian Huxley Review: A must read! - Biology has taken leaps and bounds since Darwin penned this book, yet his Theory of Evolution still remains to be one of the best, if not the best, theories mankind ever came up with. It's simply amazing how, with the little and fragmented information/knowledge available at his time, he was able to connect the dots and formulate such an extraordinary and undisputable theory. Even more admirable is his intellectual integrity and courage displayed by publishing it and letting the world know at a time when a mere suggestion of the underlying notion was unthinkable. Hats off to the man, his genius and his originality. An evergreen book that is still relevant and worth reading at this Age of gene editing and stem cell therapy. I heartily recommend this book. Review: A Tough but brilliant read. - Darwin, The big boss himself, read it a while ago. every morning after waking up I used to sit with this book. I was immersed into it day in day out. Did not ceased to amaze me, I actually had to YouTube certain concepts of to get a better understanding. Although we have come a long long way from biology in Darwin’s day it’s good to read him directly and how it all started.

Overall satisfactory
Quality of the pages of the book are not so good as well as the printing but the very purpose of the book i.e.the works of Charles Darwin was served properly.

Must Read book for Olden but Golden concepts
Its pretty impressive. It seems as if Darwin himself is taking with you like a philosopher. And if you combine with Audio book (availabke free of cost) then just ready yourself to dive into evolutionary persepectives.

I guess this is Concise version of original work
I have the older copy by Fingerprint publication 2013. but that had more than 500 pages, in standard font and margins. This doesn't have an introduction, Autor Info, or any preface. also, it is printed in some non-standard gothic font. Otherwise print and page quality are good.

If you know, you know
It is one of the books that shaped our modern days and science, the signet classics edition is not bad. But since it is Mass Market Paperback with this price if the time took me back I would've bought the Penguin Classics edition
