Excellent all around, but especially good for sports.
Above expectations. I use mp3 players or my phone for music while running - this one is the best by far for sports. Easy music functions, light weight, small, and the clip is strong enough to reliably hold on to my shorts without slipping off. Navigating the menus took practice to be quick, but they were intuitive.Ultimately, a solid music player for sports with a micro SD slot. The extra features are appreciated too: came pre-charged, auto-shut off, silicone cover, FM radio, long lasting charge. This would have been a really good gift if someone had bought it for me.

I love running with this--it is so small, and doesn't weigh me down.
I like the sound quality and size of this as I was looking to have just music when I run--not a big, bulky iPhone strapped to my arm. The big problem for me was that there were virtually no operating instructions that come with this and nothing online. If you are accustomed to Apple products, you will have to contact the seller for support. It was a "process" but I was finally put in touch with a knowledgeable person who politely walked me through it and now I am extremely happy. For me, it's running totally unencumbered.

If you want it because of the Bluetooth, avoid it.
I bought this MP3 player only for running to replace my Ipod mini that died. I was looking for a cheap player as I only need it for running. The most important part was the Bluetooth as I used Bluetooth earphones for running. I am now using it for 1 months and I run 5 times a week between 1 and 2h. What I can say is that the battery life and the sound are decent for the price but the Bluetooth connection is awful. I can't get a stable connection between it and my earphones with the player being in the back pocket of my running shorts. I also sometimes use it while biking to work, in this situation the player is in my backpack about 6 inches form my earphones and the connection is most of the time not stable. So this a good player if you don't want to use it via Bluetooth.

A cut above
This player's design solves many of the issues that plague other devices in its class. It's conveniently small, it has a retainer clip so you can attach it to your clothing or a strap, it's easier to read in high light levels (except full sunlight), and it doesn't lose your place when power-cycled (important for podcast listening). It has actual switches to control its operation, which avoids inadvertent changes caused by accidental contact with the commonly used non-switch control surfaces on cheaper players. The feature I would like to see -- one not yet supported by any of these players -- is the ability to auto-connect to the last-used Bluetooth device when powered up. No available players do this, and all of them should have it as a user-selectable option. Maybe in the future. But in spite of this missing feature, it deserves five stars.

Great product
This product surprised me with how simple it was to navigate. I really liked that I could add music and even listen to the radio. I think what would have topped it off is if it had like a pedometer or something like that to track steps/distance while on walks or runs. Overall it is a nifty device and like the ebook option too.

Bluetooth sound quality poor
Purchased to use with bluetooth headphones for running. I had tried a Sansa Sport Clip Plus but did not like some of the features of that unit so I gave this sportster a try. The sportster's sound quality is much poorer - almost staticy - I guess distorted is a better word.Paired pretty easy, playing music was easy, but the poor sound quality is a deal killer. I'm returning it.

Occasionally temperamental but great
So I have boughten two of these (one for me and my better half) and I love it. We got Bluetooth skull candy headphones for Christmas so I got these to go with them. Excellent pair. Occasionally they sync together odd and the sound is off but as soon as I notice it I turn off the mp3 player and turn it back on and problem solved. 16gbs of space is plenty for using it when mowing the lawn or working out plus a slot for a micro SD card makes it even better. Extremely easy to use. The only issue I really have with it is twice now it's locked the buttons when in my pocket and it takes me a minute to remember how to unlock it. I highly recommend this to anyone
