Rechargeable Portable Heat Pack - Lifesaver
I do not normally do reviews, but this is an amazing product. I suffer from colitis, which causes me a lot of stomach pain. I am also a college student majoring in nursing so missing classes is not an option. This is so wonderful, it takes no time at all to heat up, I can heat it up between classes or even in class if need be. I place it on my stomach and it helps soothe the pain and get me through classes on my rougher days. It gets really hot, you can't put it on direct skin right away, but it lasts a decent amount of time. I bring along a sweatshirt to throw over it and it keeps the heat going even longer and nobody can really see me using it. I have had it for a few months now with no problems at all. One thing I will note is that at first I couldn't figure out how to charge it, I was trying to unscrew the whole large round red circle, but all you have to do is swivel the part that reads "hotshot" to the right or left ... Just in case anyone else is confused at first. Anyways, love this product, would recommend 100%. Shipping was fast & packaging was fine. No problems at all.

The essential heating pad....rechargeable!!!
OMG! This thing is awesome! Plug it in and in just 5 minutes, it's nice and hot. It becomes pliable when warmed up and you can put it anywhere you need it. My only complaint is that it's hard to KEEP it where you need it, like shoulders, back of the neck, or any part of your back. If it came with some kind of wearable pouch to put it in that would keep it in place, it would be perfect. I would like to see this company come up with that accessory AND consider developing smaller versions of it. This one is about 7" long. It would be great to have little square ones that you could have in your pockets to keep your hands warm. It's durable as all get out. All my friends and co-workers have borrowed it from me...it gets passed around and re-charged and used constantly. Everyone wants to get one! It's definitely on my holiday gift list for a few folks!

Wish it was a tiny bit bigger, but I LOVE it!
These are perfect for my needs. I love that I don't need to be near an outlet. I can heat it up and even take it in the car if needed. In the winter, I put one by my feet in bed. I have chronic back pain and rotate it with ice. It is so nice that it is still hot after I remove it and use ice for 20 minutes. I did accidentally sit on it on a hard surface and it got a leak, but that was after many, many months of use. It probably wasn't the first time that too much pressure was put on it. My young boys like it when it is almost cooled down and I'm sure it hasn't been treated well if I'm not looking. I did buy a slightly bigger, kidney shaped one from another retailer. It stopped working within months, was a MUCH HIGHER PRICE, and smelled like it was burning when it heated up. It also took longer to heat. That was probably due to the size. This fits my needs better and am so happy I found it after the other one stopped working.

One Star
Get hot enough to burn you and then cools down really fast.

does not heat hot nor long enough, don't waste your money
does not heat hot enough. when it does, it lasts only a few minutes. i bought two of these and same problem with both the red and the blue item. so disappointed with the item. you're better warming hot water and putting it in a bottle and wrapping it in a towel…at least this is very affordable and heat lasts long. this 110 volt model is no comparison to the 220 volt model used in Asia. not worth buying.

Mediocre heating pack
Works ok. Heat wrks for 1 hr max give or take. However, right when the pack starts getting lukewarm & i want to plug it in again to keep it hot, the light that indicates it's re-heating doesn't heat up until the pack feels like it's getting cool enough on its own.

Easy to use, stays hot
I ordered four different portable warmers from Amazon in the past few days. This is the only one that worked. And this works really well! It heats up easily and stays hot for a good while. I prefer to use things that aren't reliant on electricity, but my old-fashioned hot water bottle had to be air-dried and tended to collect spiders inside, and was just messy and troublesome in general. So I bought this product and so far, it's fantastic. The only thing that would make it even better is if it came with an adapter so I could plug it into my solar recharger. Then it would truly be portable.Just on an aesthetic level, the picnic table cloth cover is quite ugly. Some prettier cover designs would make this product more visually appealing. Or even solid colors. The current covers are all rather unattractive. But it's a very useful product. Simple and effective.

Heats up very quickly and easily; good toasty foot warmer! One downside, though.
This is an amazing little heating pack. It heats up in about 5 minutes and gets very hot, so I grabbed a flannel cover from a hot water bottle I never use and although it's a bit big for the Hot Shot, it does the job. I have subtracted one star because it does have a chemical odor. The odor was very strong when I first got the HotShot so I contacted Small Town Oklahoma, from whom I purchased it, and they responded quickly saying "It just means that the heating pack is brand new and never been used before, if that smell is gone it means someone has used it. Now it normally takes 4-5 charges for the smell to go away and it will." They were very good about offering to refund my purchase price if it didn't go away. I have charged it probably 10 times and it still has a faint odor but it's not a show-stopper. I will keep it. I use the Hot Shot to keep my feet warm at night and put a little lavender essential oil on the flannel cover I mentioned above. It stays hot past the time I fall asleep so I haven't really timed it, but it is still slightly warm in the morning and very comfy! Unless you are very sensitive to chemical smells, I recommend this product, although I do, of course, wish it contained a more natural (i.e., not chemical) heating substance.
