It took about 15 minutes to put it together. comes with an Allen wrench for assembly, no additional tools were required.The chair looks great and sturdy, I am a big man 6'4", this chair has high enough back and headrest for me, it's perfect chair for big and tall guys.The seat cushion is very thick and comfortable and the mesh back is very nice and breathable. The ergonomic function of this chair seems very great. You can adjust the seat depth, the backrest height, the arms heights, the headrest height, the chair height, etc. and you can tilt both the back and seat into the position you like then drop the handle to lock it there. It seems to have all of the features I wanted.The casters are very smooth, I had planned to buy a mat for my hardwood floors, but the casters don't seem to scratch the floor at all.This chair is beyond what I expected, its quality is better than what I've bought from other office supply stores before. It's the most comfortable and ergonomic home office chair I have owned. I recommend it.

What I like-Everything adjusts on this chair, pretty amazing for the price.Fits a bigger person well.It looks pretty cool which I was not expecting.I love the armrests, they have a great non-sticky texture, are soft enough and have a wide range of adjustment.The seat has a thick cushion.What I don't like-Mesh back feels kinda rough and pulls my shirt up when I recline (distance between seat and back change during recline maneuvers.I hate the locking recline mechanism, I like to set a maximum and return to upright at will. On this chair you need to unlock the lever to sit up again and sometimes it takes way too much fiddling to get it to unlock.It is also hard to sit up completely upright as only your lower back is in contact with the seat back. This gets uncomfortable after a while and hurts my back. You must recline at about 10-15 degrees to be in contact with the seat back in it's highest position.Not sure if I'm going to keep it but it sure has awesome armrests and a pretty good seat cushion.

This Hessen chair is a great value. It has all the adjustments that a office chair costing three times more has. The quality is very good. With the many adjustments that the chair has, I was able to adjust this chair to the best ergonomic position for me so I can work many hours in this chair. I worked with a customer service representative from the Hesse Customer Service Department named Irene. Irene was outstanding to work with. Excellent customer service. She is very committed in helping customer., She makes sure the customer has a satisfied experience and that the customer gets full benefit from owning a quality product like a Hessen chair.

I have tried way to many office chairs before I found this one. OMG is all I can say. Very comfortable...supports my low back very well. Arms are the perfect height and the neck support is an additional plus. Tge deal breaker was the fact that I could adjust the depth of the seat. Since I am very short from the hip to the bend in the knee, most chairs make my lower legs go to sleep...even with an elevated foot rest they still ho to sleep. I have used this chair for 1 week and have no "sleeping legs".

Feel this is an excellent chair for the most part, the only reason for the low marks in the ease of assembly was strictly due to the headrest part. Everything else was easy (I'm 70 years old and did it myself without any assistance). However, the headrest was a pain in the you-know-what! My instructions did not match the connections so it took about 3Xs longer to connect properly. However, I did get it attached yet it is not as stable as I would prefer (can't grab the headrest to move the chair or it detaches. Yet, this is the only issue I have like the comfort and smoothness of the rest of the chair. Trust this helps answer your question.

Overall highly adjustable.The only thing I do not like about this chair is that the armrests are set somewhat too wide. I am making it work by tilting them inward but it would be better if I could adjust the armrests so that they would be closer to my body. Since they did such a great job at having other parts adjustable I do not understand why they did not do it with the armrests.

This would be a great chair but for its faults. One arm was broken when we put it together, and they sent a replacement chair. Not a replacement arm, a whole chair! Overkill! Now, three weeks after it’s arrival, it has to be returned again. This time the wheels won’t roll anymore. I asked for replacement wheels, but again, they insist that I return the whole chair. At this point, I’m just ordering a different chair altogether. A real shame

Adjustments were helpful- not gimmicky. The seat is not overly contoured which lets me find a sitting posture that works for me.I’m not forced into a particular shape.
