I prefer the Simmons 6-20x44 MAG scope I have mounted on my 300ultramag, but when I ordered my quick disconnect for my AR it came as a 30mm mount instead of the 1". So...this was the best scope in 30mm mildot for under two bills I could find. I have no problems using this scope at all power ranges. The exit pupil at 24x is pretty small, so if you are not used to a scope it is hard to find your target sometimes. I was able to hit a 6" pumpkin 15 out of 15 shots at 200yds on the 24x setting. I did not have a very good rest and I was bundled up in a heavy coat since it was about 36F when I was shooting. Not ideal situation for accuracy shots, but if I was shooting at anything larger than a squirrel for food at 200yds I would be eating very well. The Black mildots are great and well defined. The illuminated dots are nice when you are aiming into the shadows. I only needed the first 2 brightness settings when I tested it out in full daylight. Anything above a 3 setting seemed to be too bright and clarity of the IR dots was compromised. I had no problems with the windage turrets. They click and function nicely. I did not officially test them for 1/8" accuracy per click, but they seemed close. The turret lock feature worked great as well as the zero reset. As far as the parallax adjustment, I've never seen one that was accurate for everyone! The eye piece needs to be focused for each individuals eye sight thus affecting the parallax settings. Just adjust the eye piece so the cross-hairs are in focus, adjust the parallax so your target is focused and use a good range finder to get the range. Adjust your clicks and pull the trigger!
