I was told that the "CG" and the "SH" are applied by different vendors. I do know that machines that are labeled "HD" are heavy duty, "CG" is commercial grade, and "SH" is a household machine. I would suggest looking at the resources tab on Singer's site for each machine and choose the features that best support your intended sewing.
