Wow
I was a hardcore non vegetarian before I quit meat, this was my ever taste test on mock meat.. I must say it tasted amazing.. it did not have any pungent smell as another review above said.. it did taste a little like soyabeans but I tried marinating them really well and then cook it.. I did go an extra mile to make it tastier which I probably wouldn't have had to do for meat.. but it tasted amazing.. if u were or are a non veg u will be able to make the difference.. but it's a great replacement.. definitely recommend.. I've heard frnds who have tried making tandoor kebabs out of it and they tasted absolutely like meat.. definitely recommend.. ordering in bulk again..

Not cultured meat. Tastes like soya bean cuz it is just that!
So, we got it thinking that it would be a proper meat substitute but our experience was... well.... just horrible. We marinated the product like it is provided in the instructions and used their own recipe that they gave on their website. The taste of the the supposed meat was poor. Its clearly soya bean blocks with some minor altercation that they pass as meat substitute. It's not tissue cultured meat and when you eat it, its extremely like soya bean... which has been treated with chemicals. Kind of like someone added some medicine to soya blocks?Anyway, even the regular soya chunks are much better than this and even the mushroom feels 10x more like meat than this. What a waste of time, money and effort! Would not recommend.

Taste is good but not great. Predominant Soya taste though better!
Primarily tastes of Soya though the texture is a little softer and less chewy compared to the usual soya chunks. Has a good taste, but tastes better when soaked overnight in the curry. Overall the texture is more like meat, but still has a dominant soya taste to it, the pea protein content is probably not that high in this veg. meat. Also, I felt that it was lacking in the non-veg fat which gives meat that amazing texture and rich taste. If they could layer some fat in to the grain of the meat, it would probably give that amazing taste which we ex-nonvegetarians are searching for!Cost wise I felt that it isn't that markedly different from Soya to command such a premium price. If this was around 500 rs to 600 rs. per kg, it would still be worth considering it.I had high expectations from this product, which were partially met but again, not that great to be considered as "Veg Meat" compared to Soya chunks. However, I've decided to try out all the alternatives and then update my review as I need to compare this to it's competitors to give a true picture of it's quality. So expect an update in the coming months from me.

A Game-Changer in Plant-Based Delights!
I stumbled upon GoodDot's Vegetarian Bytz and let me tell you, it's a true game-changer! As someone diving into the world of plant-based alternatives, this product blew me away. What I loved the most was its versatility. From stir-fries to sandwiches, it seamlessly adapted to every recipe I tried. The texture and taste were surprisingly close to the real deal, making it a go-to for my vegetarian and vegan-friendly meals. The fact that it's zero cholesterol and high in dietary fiber adds an extra layer of goodness. It's not just a substitute; it's a healthier choice without compromising on flavor or satisfaction.Durability and sturdiness? Top-notch. I appreciated how well it held up in different cooking methods, ensuring a consistent and delicious outcome every time.Honestly, if you're exploring meat alternatives or just want to add some variety to your meals, GoodDot's Vegetarian Bytz is a must-try. It's become a staple in my kitchen, and I can't recommend it enough!

This doesn't even taste like mutton.
Right from the time I opened the package the smell of the content was repulsive. After putting everything as indicated and cooking for 30 mins still the chunks did not got tender. Even the taste was bad. Please do more research and improve quality of this food item.

Taste exactly like Soya
I was excited to find a meat alternative, and had high hopes after reading the reviews. And was further impressed as it’s made in India. However, anyone who said this tastes like meat or has texture like meat has probably never eaten meat before or had Corona because their tastebuds were definitely not functioning. This tastes and smells exactly like soya chaap. I followed the exact instructions on the box. Boiled it for 5 mins and followed the recipe mentioned. Unfortunately there is nothing - and I really do mean nothing - that remotely resembles meat. I’m a Bengali who has 34 years experience of eating meats of all kinds. This product doesn’t resemble any meat, not just mutton. The soya taste is very very strong. If you are a true non-vegetarian, stay far far away from this.
