It fell apart broken. Did not stand up to the job. Mostly made of plastic.
Junk. It broke and didn't stand up to the job. Made mostly of plastic. Would be a good idea if made from metal.

Not Quite what I expected
It was not quite as advertised, the crank to wind or unwind the 25 foot cable was not designed to work and doesn't. However if you throw it away as it is useless, and manually use the 25 foot cable, using the smallest brush first and the next size, next the larger it works well.

Easy to use.
Used with my drill attached and had the dryer vent cleared out in minutes. In fairness I did not try the manual crank. So I can not comment. Works as advertised though. I bought because my dryer duct was longer than 12 ft. And that is the max for anything at lowes or home depot. It came faster than I expected. And I used one of the smaller heads to break up the clogs. Then I put the 4 inch back on to clean out the last of the lint. Worked like a charm.

Good product, bad directions.
The directions are not clear, but the cleaning elements worked great. The kit contains two of some of the smaller pieces that are necessary and easily lost. The handle is not for winding and unwinding the flexible cable as some reviews suggest. The handle rotates the cable to assist with snaking the cable past blockages. My dryer has a 16 foot section between two 90 degree bends that hadn't been cleaned in thirty years. I manually fed the cable from the outside and couldn't get past all the build up. After cleaning and reattaching the inside venting to the dryer, I started the dryer and ran it while using the small 2" brush from the outside. Large pieces of lint came loose. I filled a plastic grocery bag with all the debris. When I finished, no more lint was sticking to the cleaning head, the cable banged metal on metal as I fished it in and out, and tumbling of the clothes in the dryer was heard through the now clean vent pipe outside.A clear parts list and better directions are needed before this is a five star product. The plastic housing and crank seem sturdy enough for home use, but only time will tell.

Not for long vents with bend.
The idea is nice, but we have a 24’ dryer exhaust pipe and this doesn’t actually turn once we get a few feet in. In fact, the line just kinks and doesn’t go any further. We ended up just snaking it through with the little bullet thing, attaching the bruch and yanking it back through. We could have done that with a much cheaper option.

a toy
This vent cleaner is basically a toy, cheaply made and cheaply designed. Barely use it once and plan to throw away.

Be careful
First, the cable is stiff but if you have a tough clog, it will take more than this to break through.Second, make sure all end fittings will go easily into the tip of the cable. One of mine didn't fit so I had to file it down to make it fit.

A journey through the Kingdom of Lint
I bought this device to clean the vent duct from our clothes dryer, which had not been cleaned since its installation several years ago. My ductwork is 16 feet long and 4 inches diameter with several bends. It's stiff aluminum with accordion corner pieces, all held together with aluminum duct tape. The duct cleaning system has no breakable plastic parts - only the reel cover and crank handle are plastic, and those are not likely to break. I have written a complete report on my website (A Journey through the Kingdom of Lint,[...]/) but here are a few key points: (1) I first cleaned with a smaller brush, then finished with a larger brush; (2) if you crank as you push the brush in, the cable will kink - it's better to push it in, then crank as you pull it back out, to scrub lint from the walls; (3) I was able to push the brush past the 45 degree bends but not a 90 degree bend - I wound up removing the tape at the 90 degree corner and cleaning the parts on either side separately; (4) I had to buy a roll of aluminum duct tape (required by code - it's fireproof) from the hardware store to re-assemble the ducting - it was not expensive; (5) there is no point in using a power drill to spin the brush - you have more control turning it manually; (6) it's helpful to have another person's hands at some points - the reel housing is light weight and wants to walk around while you are trying to maneuver the brush and the cable; (7) I got an IMMENSE amount of lint out of the duct, really surprising since there was no evident blockage and since we clean the lint filter after every use; (8) this is a sturdy, well designed product with a box that holds it well between uses and with all necessary tools provided.I hope this review helps your own do-it-yourself project!
