The Many Faces Of Kiss

Interesting mix of kiss related artists and songs....kiss tributes, and original songs by artists Kiss has covered like TOSSIN' AND TURNIN' by Bobby Lewis (my favorite song on Peter's solo album)....Kissin' Time' by Bobby Rydell (version on first Kiss album.) It's a 3 cd collection.....the first being the best featuring Kiss artists especially Bruce Kulick on 5 songs.....Eric Singer playing drums on a few, a jammin tune by Richie Scarlet and Ace Frehley called "Johhny's in Love".....Vinnie Vincent's Demo of "Gypsy in her eyes" is a great song showing his song writing ability for melodic music with a great hook. There are different versions of the song on You Tube to show you how the different production adjustments add to the rough demo. The original demo of "Is that you" by Gerard McMahon is rockin in it's stripped down form...which many KISS fans feel like that's the way UNMASKED should have been recorded originally. Rick Derringer gets a few songs since he did some ghost work on Kiss albums..."Teenage Love Affair" and "Rock & Roll Hoochie Koo" are great tunes. Another surprise is a band called Shameless who is a German glam rock who has some great melodic rock songs featuring Bruce Kulick on guitar and Eric Singer on drums, and a song called American Man co- written by Gene Simmons. The 2nd CD is all covers of KISS songs by various artists of 14 songs, included featuring some like a rockin' version of Charisma by Dogbane, a harder rockin' version of Love gun by Mystic Force...a very interesting take on "I was made for loving you" with great vocals by Last Pharaoh. Disc 3 is an interesting disc of various different songs. Featuring songs by Alice Cooper, Sweet, Punky Meadows doing their original songs....and a few artists doing versions of New York Groove, God gave rock n' roll to you....another original version of " Then he kissed me" by The Diamonds". So all in all some very interesting listening here, and for only @ 12.00 bucks on amazon is worth checking out. Now if we can get KISS to release Kissology 4 or a new Kiss album like a newer version of ALIVE 2 with live tracks of the current band and maybe a side with original songs to go along with it....Kiss fans will be more than pleased. In the meanwhile....this set is worth getting...especially for the price. BTW, there is an interesting history about the band written on the inside of the three fold out package of the collection.

This 3 cd set is so cool. the 1st disc are songs done by ex-kiss members and associates. disc 2 are covers of kiss songs and most are really good. disc 3 are influences and original versions of songs kiss covered (though some of them weren't the real originals, but still good versions) I found it very interesting and enjoyable.

It's a great album. Be advised It's even better if you're a die hard KISS fan. It traces the connections between the artists and KISS.

This is definately my favorite or the "unauthorized" KISS collections. I don't have them all yet, but I will eventually..What can Isay, KISS RULEZ!

Noticed that the word KISS is different. This was made in Mexico and basically for European audience.Still great stuff.

Good for die hard Kiss fans. Not really a lot of kiss on it though.

3 CD set of Bands/artists covering Kiss songs, songs/artists that influenced Kiss. It features Bruce Kulick on a number of tunes and includes one with Gene on it himself singing. Nice addition to my collection. Quality is certainly good and the price was right as well!

Mi queja no es por el producto, es por lo que se repite bastante amenudo y es por las ralladas que alguien se dedica a hacer en las portadas de cartón de los Cds. Este viene con dos bien hechas. Como el tema ya me aburre he decidido ya no pedir el reemplazo. No es mi primera queja por este motivo, pero ya no es problema mío. Un saludo.

On a aussi Gene Simmons et Eric Singer pour le reste de la famille et des invités comme Gerard Mc Mahon qui a déjà été repris par KISS, malheureusement pas de compo de Paul Stanley et Tommy Thayer.Le 2ème CD est appelé ‘The Songs’ (14 Titres)Il s’agit de reprises de groupes divers, avec plus ou moins de bonheurs comme dans le CD Kiss my AS. Mon titre préféré est incontestablement ‘Charisma’ repris par le groupe Dogbane.Le 3ème CD est appelé ‘Originals, Influences & Favorites’ (15 titres)Il s’agit de morceaux et de groupe qui ont influencé fortement le groupe. L’occasion de découvrir des Sweet pas encore remixé et des originaux comme ‘God Gave Rock N’roll To You’ de the Fastwalkers et New York Groove de Hello.Conclusion finale : Je suis super content d’avoir acheté cette compilation d’œuvres car 43 titres pour ce prix là, ça vaut la peine.Cette œuvre mérite de trôner dans ma collection et permet encore de mieux comprendre la machinerie de guerre qu’est KISS.

Was soll man dazu sagen, CD 1 ein paar ordentliche Hard Rock Songs wo auch der ein oder andere von Kiss beteiligt war ! CD 2 komplett mit Coverversionen von denen wirklich keine an das Original heran kommt, sogar 2x Totalausfall mit C.o.t.N. und I was made, einfach nur schrecklich und 2x echt gut gemacht mit C`mon and love me und Forever, der Rest durchschnitt !! CD 3 für mich total überflüssig und belanglos !!

Eine wirklich tolle Zusammenstellung von Songs. Vor allem der Song American man von Shameless ist der absolute Knaller.
