Innovative must have product for manual defrost fridges
Had to stay for rent awhile in a superhot town in Tamil Nadu, away from home, where milk & fruits go spoiled in a few hours, & had to get hold of a basic single door LG refrigerator. Then faced the key issue of these basic single door fridges that needs manual defrost - frost nightmares in & around the freezer & chill tray drips. As per manual had to defrost every alternate day - had set a mobile alarm to do so but this was getting to be a time consuming pain when i chanced upon this Frost Fizz Auto Defrost product.Ordered one & fulfilled order got delivered in a couple of days & have not had to defrost manually ever since.Autodefroster working principle - it turns off power to the fridge around midnight, for 30minutes thus melting daily buildup of frost, thus saving us from having to defrost every few days. A monthly check of frost levels to see if buildup is more than a cm in which case a manual defrost may havd to be done - mostly manual defrost not required at all once auto defroster is installed. How it works: plug in the Autodefroster in the three pin wall socket / plug point & plug in your fridge into the plugslot on the Autodefroster. Turn on the wall socker switch. Red light (input power indicator) will be on immediately on the auto defroster & green light (output power to fridge indicator) will be off. First time wait a few minutes for green light to be on & the fridge to start getting power via the Autodefroster. Now turn the knob in the front marked as Set Clock Time & set the time on the auto defroster to the time then. The bottommost point of the knob (marked 12) is 12pm noon, turning clockwise past six linemarks (1,2,3,4,5pm) towards leftmost point (marked 6 PM) is 6pm evening, turning again clockwise past six linemarks (7,8,9,10,11pm) towards topmost point (marked 12 Defrost) is 12am midnight when defrost starts i.e. when atmosphere is coolest & it's safest to turn off the fridge automatically, & so on turning clockwise to rightmost point (marked 6 AM) & so on. You look at the clock & if you see it's 10am then, turn the auto defroster knob to 10am position (4th marked point clockwise after the right most 6AM point) before turning on the wall socket switch. Now you can see that the knob autorotates to the next hour mark as hours pass & when it reaches the topmost point marked 12AM (which will be your midnight if you have set the click time correctly!), it turns off the power to the fridge & the green light turns off. This is the half an hour of auto defrost, at the end of which green light turns on & fridge buzzes into life again.Maintenance: the knob rotation as time moves requires power to run, which means when power goes off for hours at a time, the auto defroster clock runs behind that many hours. So after a power supply failure more than an hour, it's better to reset the auto defroster click knob manually to the right time. No big harm even if you forget as defrost will happen say at 11pm instead of midnight then. What i do is to glance at the knob once in a while when passing by the fridge to see if the auto defroster click knob time syncs with the actual time then- if not i will turn & set it right. Small pain to get a big work done!A simple gadget yet brilliant idea & what more, it does the job well! I initially set a mobile alarm to check for frost every fortnight. There was no frost. So now checking monthly & turning on the fridge defroster mors just to keep it functional than due to any frost build up.Pros-almost everything. Its a time & energy saver!Cons- manufacturer could have made the clock knob run on rechargeable battery instead of power supply & avoid the need to reset the time. A basic instructions booklet is missing. Difficult to figure out how it works from the side sticker in the auto defroster. Had to watch the brand's youtube channel to figure out (till then i thought i could use the knob to decide the time when defrost is to be done & i kept turning knob back to 1am point!)I am adding a pic of the side sticker which along with the tips i added above will help you use the tool better.Final personal verdict - Go for it!

Serves the purpose
It will help to defrost by daily cutting off supply for half an hour. Very good technology but after a month or so, gradually frost will come, then u have to clear it. But way better than one without it. Frequency of cleaning improved.

Works erratically
Firstly - this isn't really a defroster, its just a timer device which cuts off power supply to the fridge at a set time (12 a.m.) everyday for about half an hour. And it sucks at this job also - after a few weeks of use, the motor which is supposed to turn the knob automatically, was not doing so. Result is that defrosting would never happen. After switching off and on the device, it started working but erratic - the time set on the knob always falls back compared to actual time, suggesting that the motor is running only sometimes. Secondly the time period the device switches off the fridge is bit less than required. I have a 190L whirlpool fridge but I find that the frost has not completely melted, when I check it in the morning. In fact, it results in a water accumulating in the chiller tray in small pools and it refreezes after fridge turn back on. Also dripping icicles form from the evaporator coils. Its better to avoid buying this item and instead buy a proper Timer switch, which is also available online and does the same job without pretending to be a 'defroster'

Highly recommended for single door direct cool refrigerators
Really works, atleast 80% headache of ice accumulation & defrosting has gone. Highly recommended for single door direct cool refrigerators. Plug & play device, any layman can install.I like to express my sorrow for the above posting. The device is malfunctioning just after 3 months but this seller is leaving the headache to the customer. So, Purchase at your own risk. This is for all who will read this review that the seller has understood my expression and finally replaced the item with a new one, which is now working fine. So it may be concluded that the seller is customer-centric and the item can be purchased from them without much worry. I recommend it to anyone who wants to get rid of accumulated frost in their single door direct cool refrigerator confidently.

Satisfactory at this price band
Does not work as expected. We do need to defrost but the time interval are more using this product. Without this product may be every 2weeks defrost is needed using this product you may need to defrost monthly . Depends on the humidity in your area.

Value for money product can blindly purchase it
It may be working on simple mechanism like clock (timer) which switches off the power at midnight but it's worth to buy a product for paid money. Since 11/2 months usage I didn't defrosted my fridge it's taking care of frost collection and happy with the product. But needs to be reset to present time if power cut in that area.

Good product
Product is good it is on off timer it kept your refrigerator off for two hours in day but it's not sufficient. Need to increase off time hours to defrosting all ice from coil.
