Evenings were surely reserved for outdoor fun.I tried exploring the local shops but could not find anything impressive. Online shopping on the other hand had plethora of options to choose from.The only thing to be borne in mind was the right age group intended & the content the book. Some books might have the correct age group mentioned but still may lack suitable content.Since my kid is already drawn to books, facts & figures I had to make sure it was definitely not too easy & thus uninteresting to him.A lot of information, I had already shown him over the net but a book is a book. Nothing can replace the comfort & effectiveness of a book.ABOUT THE BOOK:xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxEven though the book was intended for class 3 kids elder to my son yet i found the content of this GK book suitable & unique & hence ordered the same. The book was received quite fast just after three days of ordering.Allow me to introduce you to the book in a systematic fashion under various heads, I could think of.1. Book Binding :**************************This book is only available in paperback binding as expected.The main cover of the book is decent thick which is good. The pages of the book are stitched by thread & the main cover of the book is glued which may come off with rough handling.No big deal though as the book is meant for short lifetime & the cover can be glued back again.2. Size :****************The book dimensions fare around 11 inches (Height ) by 8.5 inches ( Width ).Thickness is around 5 mm so it’s a pretty big book for kids however with a bigger book you can expect bigger font size , bigger pictures & clear visibility.3. Content & No. of pages :********************************This book is rated for kids in class 3 ie, age group 8+ which was beyond my kids age of 6+ yet keeping in mind his inclination & information, it felt adequate .The book has in total 68 pages of which last 6 pages hold the sample test papers & answers.Please Note : This book is not some ordinary GK book where you learns the states & capitals etc but instead has a more global outlook withselection of key points from all areas & subjects.The infotainment & thrill of new information starts from the very first page & last up to the very last page.I bet few information would be new to even parents.The book has a proper index & covers knowledge & questionnaire from fields ranging from Right behavior, Eating right, safety first, Road signs to animals to plants to space & continents to famous personalities & structures, It covers almost all the major key info.Sample test papers at the end further help to check for the effective learning & answers on last 2 pages have the key to all questions.Overall the content is quite diverse , colorful & engaging. Most of all well suited for kids above 6+ to 11 depending upon kids interest. I suppose.Edition: The book is based upon the 2017 edition & is reprinted in 2018.4. Paper Quality/Durability:***************************************The paper quality offered at the given price is pretty decent & by no means fragile. It may not be as good as hardcover editions but for a regular book its pretty good and reasonably ok.5. Real Life Photos / Illustrations:********************************************The book is full of colorful illustrations & real life snaps on each page which is quite apt of what could be asked for at this price.6. Price :*****************The book comes with a price of 199 bucks against printed MRP of 199 which is just ok.A discounted price would surely haven’t hurt.Pros :**********As a plus, I would just say it’s a great value for money which rightfully serves its intended purpose of knowledge enhancement & engagement , fueling up their quest to ask questions & developing a base to create scientific reasoning .Cons:*****************There are a few things that could surely be improved like paper quality, binding quality & print quality but then the price would have surely gone up & the basic purpose of creating a VFM product would be defeated.FINAL VERDICT :xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxAll in all , I would say I am highly satisfied by the diversified content of the book for a 7+ to 11 year old kid.
