It is crinkled, but only about as much as I expected based on the picture. It stands up nicely on it's own and holds about 4 loads of laundry. The straps are nice and sturdy and even when the hamper is heaping it's easy to carry downstairs. The color and pattern means it's nice enough looking that I don't mind it being visible in my bedroom.
