Josef Müller-Brockmann studied architecture, design and history of art in Zurich and worked as a graphic designer and teacher. His work is recognized for its simple designs and his clean use of fonts, shapes and colors, which still inspires many graphic designers throughout the world today. This book needs no introduction. It is a Bible for graphic designers. Highly informative, detailed and brilliantly beneficial for anyone who reads it. It covers the basics and fundamentals of Graphic Design and Typography in a beautifully structured manner, along with offering guidance on good practices. This book is a must have!

Boring, rigid book that didn't teach me much
I bought this book because I thought the author is one of the masters of his field (graphic design), and I've found some of his designs to be fresh and impressive after so many decades. Unfortunately, the book is nothing of that sort. It's written in an extremely rigid tone that makes it hard to understand the point being made. The ideas in the book aren't clearly organised or communicated. I have a feeling an excellent blog post would teach me more about graphic design than this dreary tome. It's also bilingual, in English and German, with the result that almost half the space in the book is wasted.

This books it starts by setting the base of grid systems and finish with using them and show the possibilities of this great tool. It’s a must read if you are a graphic designer.
