For Today's third album "Breaker" builds on the success of their previous 2 albums and the non-stop touring that they have done over the past couple of years. Recorded at the Machine Shop by Will Putney, "Breaker" is 12 tracks of metal infused hardcore that fans worldwide have come to love. After headlining this year's "Scream The Prayer" Tour, they will be supporting Bleeding Through in the Fall. "Breaker" is guaranteed to be one of the strongest albums in it's genre in 2010.

Perfection
A great hardcore album, hands down! Listened to the band's material online, went to show and enjoyed both experiences. Purchased the band's second album at the show. Purchased this album, their third, and a t-shirt online. Looking forward to acquiring their first album as well. Great bunch of guys, great band, great message! For anybody checking this album out for the first time, do not be discourage by the in-between tracks. The band is using these to carry the theme of the album as it gives the testimony of what could just about any of us really. As sad as the story is initially, I'm sure many relate. We all have our struggles. We can all accept The Redemption, if we choose, if we are ready for it. I know I am; are you?"Rockin' it at the Apocalypse!" - Squad Five-O

Breaker Review
For Today doesn't sugarcoat their music. Their lyrics are more intense, poignant, and - dare I say it? - Christian than just about any Christian metal (and any subgenre therein) band that I've heard (maybe I just haven't listened to enough). One can tell that glorifying God and ministering to listeners is their number one goal with their music. For Today is just as technical as they've ever been (which is to say: not the most technical but certainly not the least; and yes, there are sweeps), and while they don't sound EXACTLY the same as previous albums (who DOES sound exactly the same as they produce more albums?), they stayed true to their style. One small difference is that I feel that Mattie's vocal style is just slightly different on this album, just a wee bit more... refined? It's still really good, of course; he's one of my favorite vocalists. I really like the gang vocals on tracks such as "Seraphim," "White Flag," "Phoenix," and "The Breaker's Commission." They produce an atmosphere that is a refreshing contrast to the rest. They even brought in at least one guest vocalist. Some people are putting down the "Breaker" tracks, but I actually really like 'em, especially "The Breaker's Encounter" and "The Breaker's Commission" (the latter being reminiscent of "Talmidim" in its spoken-word style and its poignancy). They are necessary for the album's theme. There appears to be some misconceptions about these tracks. They are spoken excerpts of the poem "Breaker" by Jose Palos (written specifically for this album) set to music. They ARE songs. Some people just don't like to think so because of the unfamiliarity of the vocal style and rhythm.I gave this album four stars instead of five because of the incessant breakdowns. You get glimpses of just how awesome For Today and this album are, and then you get slapped with another discordant breakdown. It leaves me wondering why they interrupted a great part of the song to play something subpar. I'm not against breakdowns - some on this album are pretty cool, actually - but they get a bit tiring for me. I simply could have done with a few fewer breakdowns. However, as I listen to the album more, the breakdowns grow on me. In conclusion, if you liked Ekklesia and Portraits, you'll most likely enjoy Breaker.

Great album
While not as impressive as their "Immortal" and "Prevailer" albums, this album is top-notch among metal. I'm not a fan of spoken-word poetry, which is why the four stars instead of five. Four tracks, the "Breaker" tracks, are spoken-word, and it just contrasts from the rest of the album, and not a way I find appealing. Others, however, may love it.

Totally impressed
I have to say, I am extremely impressed with this album. I think they are a mix between Throwdown with their breakdowns and First Blood with their mix of fast and then breakdown. I love it, and for just entering the Christian Hardcore/Heavy metal scene, these guys really rock. I love how they are so hard core, yet are all about the Lord at the same time! I seriously got goose bumps listening to these guys. My favorites are Seraphim, White Flag, and Psalm of the Son. King is great too. So glad I found these guys. So brutal!!! LOVE IT!!! If you love any kind of hardcore, whether Christian or not, these guys will not disappoint you! :)

Strong
I have been a fan of Christian metal for a long time and just ran across this band a week or so ago. Devastator is an absolutely brutal song that gets me fired up every time I hear it. The rest of the CD is also quite good. Anyone that enjoys Christian Metalcore will love this album, metalcore fans should also enjoy it as long as they can handle the religious themed lyrics.
