Good for 3d rendering
This thing is a beast! Good for 3d rendering!!it has got 6 cores ddr4, USB 3.1, an extremely low temperature at stock speed doesn't come with a stock cooler. Warning my CPU failed after 2 years Intel replaced my CPU with brand new boxed unit

Best budget processor for cpu demanding tasks
Best 6 core processor if you are on tight budget/ could not afford to go for higher cores. I bought this for my rendering purpose and it is serving at its best. Go for this if you have CPU demanding tasks and tight on budget.

i7 5820k vs 4790k vs 6700k; Which one do I choose?
With Skylake out already, the 5820k is certainly is hard to recommend to anyone who is looking to build a CPU at this time.Well how does it stack up? Does the 2 generation jump make a difference? Lets find out.Skylake's new 14nm architecture has seen a performance jump of about 6-10% in single core performance and general multi-core scaling performance over the 22nm Haswell architecture. This means that the Skylake chip is slightly faster than the i7 4790k and 5820k in single core benchmarks. But the final performance gains are offset by the fact that the i7 4790k can turbo to 4.4 Ghz compared to 4.2Ghz for the Skylake chip, and for the 5820k, though its slower, keep in mind that it has 2 extra cores which means 4 extra threads; not to mention that the die space is smaller with Skylake; ~122mm² for the 6700k compared to 177mm² of the 4790k, and 356mm² of the 5820k. Plus if you take into account that a lot of that space is taken by Intel's on board GPU in the quad core chips, it would be no surprise that the 5820k has the most brute force of the trio.So what does this mean? Which of them do I need in my system?It depends on the type of work you do on your system. For CPU intensive tasks, and content creation, the 5820k will obliterate both the 6700k and 4790k, with performance numbers of upto 15-30% improvement over them. This is because CPU die area of the 5820k is huge, at 356 mm² and 2.6 billion transistors, compared to ~1.35 billion transistors for the Skylake and 1.4 billion transistors in the Haswell mainstream processors. So even with 2 cores disabled, the 5820k still beats the crap out of the other two quad core processors. This difference is amplified if you overclock your system. For gaming, and general browsing the internet, you will not notice a world of difference between the three of them. But throw in some number crunching multi threaded loads, and you've got the undisputed winner with the i7 5820k.The x99 chipset is also one of the plus points, if you were to go for this processor. Can you imagine that this processor can address 256GB of RAM? That's insane! Plus there's tons of I/O options and expand-ability options, which can only be matched by the Z170 chipset.I am using the Corsair H110i GTX which is a 280mm radiator for cooling, and the CPU reaches 4.45Ghz at 1.28 volts [this was achieved at a room temperature 30-40°C]. This is about the average overclock you can achieve, especially if you are in a hot environment like mine. Mind you, this CPU can guzzle through watts easily, I am using the Antec 1300W 80 Plus Platinum power supply for stable power output and low noise. I have simplified it below:~i7 6700k: If you wanted a future proof gaming system and absolutely need the features of the Z170 platform, where you would be upgrading things in the next few months, and don't mind the extra costs involved with Skylake motherboards and DDR4 ram.~i7 4790k: If you wanted the best possible bang for your buck PC at the moment, which is also a complete all rounder, since it excels at everything, and isn't as expensive as the other two. The performance deficit over the 6700k is too little to justify jumping onto a Skylake build. Especially if you are a gamer or if you are on a budget. The money saved could be spent on a graphic card, or something else suited to your needs like a Samsung 950 pro or a 6tb HDD or something like that rather than spending it on the Z170 platform.~i7 5820k: If you want a beast of a CPU, with absolute overclockability and raw power. An X99 based system will certainly cost you as much as a Skylake rig if not more. If you are a content creator, then believe me, this is your wet dream come true. This thing can chow down on Adobe Photoshop, and Premiere pro related workloads, x265 rendering, you name it. Just keep in mind that it takes a lot of power and cooling to keep the temperatures tame if you choose to run CPU intensive tasks with overclocks.Which is the one for me? The i7 5820k of course, as it maintains its upgradability, and its performance is top notch.

Excellent performance like Xeon processors
I bought this processor and 32GB DDR4 Ram from overseas but assembled here with MSI SLI Plus X99 Motherboard and ASUS 2GB GTS610-SL-2GD3 Graphics Card with Corsair 650 Watts SMPS on a Cooler Master "Elite" Cabinet. And the performance is really good since I am using it as a server with Virtual Machines, with a good amount of onscreen video recording and editing. In summary its money worth spent but this all comes with a decent price tag.In terms of sound I found this desktop server (with above config) to be very quite, and infact its quieter than my i7 laptop. Since I am not using it for gaming and only as a server, so far I didn't find any issues in terms of heating. So I would suggest simply go for it however be prepared to spend 80K to 1.5 lac (depending upon your configuration).IMPORTANT TIPS -1. Most of the computer retail shops owners in India simply doesn't know about this processor, and told me that its a 5th generation processor since its numbering starts with 5xxx. This is incorrect and simply ignore these comments. You must purchase a X99 motherboard to be compatible for this processor, which costs starts from 18K onwards and comes with all brands such as MSI, ASUS or Gigabyte.2. Secondly this processor doesn't comes with its own fan and hence you must separately purchase a CPU cooling fan (I purchased CoolerMaster one), which costs around INR 1800 onwards. In addition to that I have also installed a cabinet fan.

Beast of a performer for a reasonable price
I wanted to build a computer for my video editing work and casual gaming my old x58 i7 930 was obsolete now for the work I do.. first I wanted to go with skylake i7 6700k but seeing few websites reporting CPU bending due to using after market coolers I dropped that plan and went with 5820k which was just 2-3k more than 6700k and also a better performer overall with 2 extra cores and 4 extra threads which comes in handy for the stuff I do.also i easily over clocked it to 4.1ghz at 1.15v with peak temp of 70°c using a closed loop 120mm deepcool Maelstrom water cooler in Aida 64 the temp seems a lil too high for my liking but planning to upgrade soon to a corsair h110i gt and hoping to see temps drop. hope this review helps :)
