ok, but not great for hot air poppers
I was expecting a popcorn with a distinct taste. Can't say that happened. The kernels are also light so they don't work well in a hot air popper but I do what some of the people suggested and tilt the popper until the kernels start popping. Compared it to cheap Walmart popcorn. Walmart popcorn had heavier kernels which worked well in the popper and I think the popped kernels were larger and I can't say that I found much if any difference in taste. For the cost, I think I will just buy Walmart cheapo popcorn in the future. Maybe my taste buds aren't as sophisticated as some.

"No-Pop" secret
i have been a pop secret customer and a huge popcorn fan for many years. looking for something better, i really wanted to like this one. but i didn't.fireworks came highly hyped and i'd read all the reviews here. hey, it's "gourmet", right? the "near-hulless" feature had me interested. well people, what would you call a popcorn which does not pop? Fireworks.to put it mildly, a huge disappointment. after buying some six pounds, i made only two batches. the first was poor; too dry, too hard, and way too many hulls. the second was even worse; more than two-thirds old maids! yes, two-thirds. i really do not believe it was my prep method to blame, as i have been making popcorn for many decades. printed expiration was december 2015. i changed nothing: it was cooked in a large kettle with canola oil, correct temp. and mostly laid unpopped. after a while i just turned off the burner. texture was dry and chewy, a lot of hulls get in your teeth for hours. i don't know where they got the nerve to call this "gourmet", but i've had better luck with store brands.i'm going back to pop secret.

Tastes great
This popcorn tastes great. But it isn't as crispy (?) as some popcorn I've had. I know that sounds weird, but it's hard to explain. Sometimes you bite down on a piece of this popped popcorn and it compresses and becomes hard on your teeth as you bite down. It doesn't happen with every bite. But it is a bit annoying. With movie theater popcorn you can just chomp away and this never happens. Other than that minor complaint, it tastes great.

Fireworks Sunset Fire is a Family Favorite!
I've been buying Fireworks Sunset Fire popcorn for well over 2 years now and it's the only flavor I purchase now. I use a Presto hot air popper and have no issues with these popping nicely (I use between 1/2 cup and a heaping 1/2 cup). I can't really describe the flavor, but the texture is a little crunchy, which I personally like. I've tried every Fireworks kind, Orville, Pop Secret, generics, etc and this is by far the best according to every member in our family. I will also say that you should not expect the resulting popcorn kernels to be as big as Orville's, for example, but that's ok because of the flavor and texture.

Not as good as Redenbaucher's
I bought two packs - one for my brother and one for me. The one I got didn't pop as big and fluffy as Redenbaucher's jugs I buy at Costco. It was ok for my brother - no complaints.

Tender & Tasty
Whether one pops it in olive oil, air popper, butter or whatever else this popcorn tastes good. As per advertised the husks were almost non-existant or so tender they don't break your teeth. Good product.

Orville Redenbacher here I come!
I bought this popcorn because I live in the sticks and was having trouble getting Orville Redenbacher, my brand of choice.WHAT a MISTAKE!!!Out of every 5 cups of popped corn, about one cup is old maids and unpopped kernels. The kernels that actually pop aren't as big as Orville's, neither are they as tasty. I popped exactly as per the instructions, and since I've been making popcorn for over forty years, think I'm fairly proficient at it. Checked the expiration date and it is 2014, so apparently that isn't the problem. This stuff is no better than what you can get at Big Lots for half the price. So stock up on Orville Redenbacher if you want good popcorn!
