PSP Replacement Housing Shell Case with Button Set for SONY PSP 1000 Red

First, I was somewhat skeptical of the bad reviews and figured I would try this for myself. It's a painstaking process that takes hours of accuracy and precision to complete. One false move can completely ruin your PSP. However, I will mention one convenience and that's the little screwdriver that was included. This product came with no instructions or warnings. After remodeling my PSP, the UMD door never closed, the face plate and housing part didn't fit on completely (meaning that it wasn't flush or the ends didn't meet all the way at the top) which left the power button loose and faulty. The UMD door switch never functioned again and I accidentally broke a part off the motherboard that connected to the AC adapter while trying to disconnect a wire from the motherboard. Now the PSP cannot be charged with the adapter anymore. Clearly, this should only be done by professionals no matter how many video tutorials you watch. Yes, it was all Sony branded material, including the labels for the battery compartment, housing shell and face plate. This was not meant to be done by the average person, unless you have prior experience with soldering, microchips and electronics assembly. Do NOT waste your money or attempt to pull this off, because you're likely to break your PSP or disable some buttons or functions. I'll consider this another lesson learned.

My previous case was dirty, gross, and pretty much broke, so I decided that I wanted to get a new case. Red being my favorite color, I decided to go with this. It's aesthetically appealing, but for some reason I can't seem to get the connector for my circle-pad to work at all, even though I've put in every single screw right. If you want a new case, you're best to get the original case.

i received the item way before it was supposed to be delivered.it was straight forward for me to install since i work with these things all the time but any regular person shouldn't have a prob and if u do, there is a link on the faceplate where u can go to.overall this looks sweet(sweeter than the blue 1 i bought) and i recommend to any1. 9.5/10..9.5 cuz when the memory stick light flashes its all around the joystick almost.

Got a PSP from my brother for the cost of replacing the screen, got this to go with it and still use it today. I did like the fact that screen has clear film over as a screen protector.

Front plate sits hood but the back didn't

This would be 5 stars but came with no instructions, had to youtube it ,not simple as it looks ,wasn't prepared

This shell works wonderfully if you use your original direction pad. The one that comes with the replacement housing is not shaped properly on the reverse side. I would give it 4 stars, but the red and black mixture was aesthetically pleasing, and the buttons are easier to see.

case is well made but, after examining once i openend it up. my plastic hard cover that covers and protect my psp and shell right now wont fit over this shell case. whhich means this is not the exact size of the original shell for the 1000 it is slightly larger. i wouldnt recommend this product if your shell is damaged. and your looking for a replacement
